25.01.2022 Colour decisions at Glassprint. Any idea what the copper stelvins are hiding...?

25.01.2022 I love a field of freshly mown hay :-)

24.01.2022 A long time between lattes at our friends LaMoka. Great work staying open during the lockdown to keep people caffeinated.

24.01.2022 Cellar door will be closed this Saturday so we can devote ourselves to a significant family occasion. Open as usual (preferably by appointment) on Sunday from 11am-4pm.

24.01.2022 Cute and curious cows on our mountain bike ride.

24.01.2022 Nicks forest continues with the planting of 5 native Bunya pines. These grow very tall and have enormous cones with large pine nuts the black cockies will love.

24.01.2022 Hungry cows while roaming in the gloaming (on a very soggy vineyard!)

23.01.2022 Fergus channeling the Bob Marley look.

23.01.2022 Two years after we boarded our catamaran to sail round the Croatian islands we celebrated with our great Croatian friends by making a traditional peka to enjoy with the fabulous plavac mali wine they gave us. Tar and dusty roses and slow cooked lamb. In all but the weather it was the perfect reminder!

22.01.2022 Our straw necked ibis flock. They visit every winter and spend the day grazing around our lake before flying off somewhere at dusk. Nick counted 76 this morning!

22.01.2022 Do any of you have any 2013 Pinot Noir left? We decided to go back and see how the first red we ever made was tasting. Yum!

22.01.2022 Daisy smiling over lunch :-)

21.01.2022 Cellar door is closing early tomorrow at 1pm for a family celebration. Normal hours on Sunday.

21.01.2022 Is that sun? A relief after days of rain.

21.01.2022 Less than ideal 2 days before netting. Or any time for that matter.

19.01.2022 Handsome fellow put out by our pruning his home in the Hardenbergia.

19.01.2022 Well this was a fun way to spend a sunny afternoon with Mark McCarthy from @Mccarthysorchard Bubbles, chatting with a fellow grower/producer and a song thrown in. Video to follow! Thanks bathtime_bevies_with_macca

18.01.2022 I knew we had garden snails in the Chardonnay but in checking our paddock fences I found where theyre coming from!

18.01.2022 I only got 3 webs in the face this morning under the nets. Loving that biodiversity!

17.01.2022 Diamonds in the mist @topnotevineyard #visitadelaidehills #adelhillswine #fleurieupeninsula #SAwine

17.01.2022 Thinking of all our Melbourne friends. Stay safe, stay well. You are in our thoughts.

15.01.2022 This rather handsome Superb Fairy Wren and his wife have decided to live by our back door where they can admire themselves in the glass of our doors and car wing mirrors. Its lucky theyre pretty as theyre making a mess!

15.01.2022 Campfire cooking with friends near the Gawler Ranges. The High C matching beautifully with our roast pork and crackling.

15.01.2022 The manna gum is flowering and I spent some time admiring the bees this morning. One of their brethren returned the favour by stinging me on the arm this afternoon for no apparent reason. I was somewhat peeved!

15.01.2022 We had a visit from our neighbourhood swamp harrier yesterday, presumably looking for moorhen chicks...

15.01.2022 Bad Fergus! You are meant to be on the other side of that temporary fence. He appears unrepentant!

14.01.2022 We are re-opening cellar door from the 6th June! Were open from 11-4pm every Saturday and Sunday and have a new release 2017 Pinot Noir and the latest disgorgement of the High C to show off to you by the fire at cellar door. Were allowed 7 visitors at a time so get in touch to book a tasting if you want to be sure of a place inside.

13.01.2022 We took the day off rather than opening cellar door for just one day. So this is what a weekend feels like! Nick enjoying an excellent latte @dawnpatrolcoffee

12.01.2022 Here we go! Were open on Saturday and Sunday from here on in until the borders open. Booking is best by email, phone or messenger. New release 2017 Pinot and bubbles to help us all celebrate!

12.01.2022 A fine day on the vineyard. Tools of our trade :-)

11.01.2022 Cellar door re-opens this weekend from 11-4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Please book if you can so we can make sure you get a seat by the fire!

10.01.2022 Cellar door closed for as long as it lasts. Stay safe everyone.

10.01.2022 My ladder rose putting on a show at cellar door.

10.01.2022 Lost - one vineyard. Please return in late Spring after pruning!

10.01.2022 What a privilege to perform live on Sunday night. Tom Webb and I were both delighted!

09.01.2022 Cellar door will be closing early today at 3pm so Cate can prepare for her sold out concert at Coriole at 5pm this evening. There has been one returned ticket if anyone is keen!

09.01.2022 A celebratory bottle of my favourite wine as we get down to the last 2 cases. The beautiful 2015 Block 4 Shiraz. With porterhouse and mushroom sauce, duck fat potatoes, purple brussels with parma ham and home baked dinner rolls.

08.01.2022 Cellar door is booked out tomorrow from 12-2pm. Book in before or after for a tasting or come down the garden path on Sunday!

07.01.2022 The ultimate food match? The new High C disgorgement with fairy bread. We say yes!

07.01.2022 Happy tasters at cellar door. Were back!

06.01.2022 Seems like were caring for wetlands rather than a vineyard at the moment. Ducks, frogs and these native reeds are loving it!

05.01.2022 One of those afternoons!

04.01.2022 Spring Symphony of frogs (with goose percussion!)

04.01.2022 My pruning row this year was our trial Chardonnay. Trying a straight versus curved cane to see if the curve makes it burst more evenly.

03.01.2022 Weve been offering picnics on the vineyard for a few weeks now and some hardy souls have been rugging up to enjoy great wine and a basket full of local treats by the very full winter dam. Yesterdays weather was both rainy and windy so after a vineyard walk we set Oliver and his lovely (soon to be!) fiancee up under the Karo tree at cellar door. Its officially Spring tomorrow if youd like to book a picnic - we are versatile in terms of location and timing to try and avoid those cool climate complications! https://www.redballoon.com.au//adelaide-hi/TOPN001-M.html

03.01.2022 Some exciting new arrivals for the Top Note cellar :-)

01.01.2022 High C anyone? :-)

01.01.2022 Book in and visit us this weekend for your last chance to taste Nicks most awarded wine - the 2015 Block 4 Shiraz. Nearly all gone :-(. 94 Halliday points, a Silver at the Adelaide Hills Wine Show and a Bronze at the National Cool Climate wine show. The wine Cate always had backstage to open when the curtain fell on the last performance of an opera run. It was special!

01.01.2022 How now brown cow.

01.01.2022 Just a quick heads up that tomorrow is our last weekend for a while when we will open for walk in tastings. We are taking bookings only for July weekend tastings so we can have something of a winter break. Stay warm and well meanwhile!
