24.01.2022 A slightly more adventurous outing today. There are good country roads to explore in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and inland from there with beautiful landscapes to enjoy. These photos are of the western branch of the Brisbane River, in its upper reaches north of Linville. You cross the River more than thirty times as the road and waterway meanders down the valley. Its just whats needed to overcome isolation cabin fever. @ Linville, Queensland

22.01.2022 A more adventurous ride through Mt Mee National Park. This is my back yard and the Park has some of my favourite outdoor places. The Parks Gantry Day Use Area is accessible by the family car and is a great spot for picnics. The spots featured in the photos are accessible by high ground clearance vehicles in dry weather. You may remember River from some of my recent posts, he is wheelchair bound and has enjoyed riding with me. All funds raised in doing this will be donated to the DGRs causes. 18.01.2022 Recently, Topp Adventures provided joy rides to a group of ladies enjoying a lunch outing organised through ComLink. I enjoyed the event and had many wonderful experiences sharing the rides with the ladies. One that stood out was a lady riding pillion who said, "The last time I rode like this was on the back of a Norton motorcycle with my husband." The reminiscing look in her eyes when we stopped will stay with me. Following is the review received from ComLink. Some days are ...better than others. This was such an awesome day! 18.01.2022 What did you do today? I recently mentioned that I was an apprentice tradesman in the Army. The armed services each ran an apprentice training school, the Army stopped its apprentice training scheme in 1995 with fifty intakes in total. I was a member of the 29th intake. Today a group of motorcycling ex-appies and some of their wives enjoyed a ride through the Scenic Rim in South East Queensland. 16.01.2022 Catch up with a friend day. In January 1974 I joined the Army as an apprentice tradesman and spent the first two years of my service with Robert (Razz) Rasmussen. We went our separate ways on postings and met up again last year at a reunion where we renewed our friendship. I took The Chief out to Razzs home today and then travelled with him to an enjoyable lunch. It was great thanks Mate.

15.01.2022 Something different. Today I had the opportunity to see and try a moto-foil. It’s a prototype of a leaning style of sidecar fitted to an old Yamaha 250cc chook chaser. This combination showed how well the moto-foil worked as the bike was worn and loose. It showed no ill effects of having the moto-foil fitted to it. I could ride the bike like normal, hardly noticing that the moto-foil was travelling along quite happily beside me. The only thing I had to remember was to ...allow space for the moto-foil when moving around objects. I was on a cattle property riding across typical off-road and track conditions found in a cleared paddock - up and down hill, cross slope with the moto-foil high and low relative to the bike and through gullies. I rode the bike as I would normally ride a solo bike in those conditions, i.e. standing on the pegs moving my body position and the bike as the conditions dictated. The moto-foil followed the contour of the ground adjusting its position relative to the bike. I ride a rigid motorcycle and sidecar combination as well as adventure bikes. I am far from a gun rider, competent enough to ride where I want to go. The moto-foil combination has great potential in either applications and I look forward to seeing the moto-foil as a finished product.

08.01.2022 Shadow Dancer Our puppy, Dudley has discovered one fun aspect of Spring. Recent rain has triggered swarms of butterflies with many crossing our property each day. Dudley spends most of his day chasing the butterflies' shadows, which leaves the butterflies unharmed, Dudley exhausted and us quite amused.

03.01.2022 Who's a happy boy! Meet Zac. Zac suffers from multiple sclerosis. He is a motorcycle enthusiast, and sadly, Zac cannot ride in my sidecar due to his condition. That doesn't stop Zac from wanting to ride. He has just bought a bike with the plan of fitting a wheelchair accessible sidecar to it. I'm helping him with his project and will drive for him.
