24.01.2022 SENI ZURDA was imported from Yeguada Senillosa, Spain to Australia as a young filly and from there became one of Australia's most impressive versatile performance PRE mares winning many championship titles at National, State and Royal level SENI ZURDA is the total package of brains, beauty, pedigree and movement! ZURDA is professionally trained in-hand by Ron Males and has many years experience under saddle having been trained by Australian FEI rider/trainer Denise Rogan and ...successfully campaigned by both Denise and Liza Carver, winning and placing up to Official Novice. SENI ZURDA is a fantastic mum! Having produced 2 offspring, a stunning bay PRE filly by the imported Grandprix approved PRE Grandioso MG and a high quality dark brown PRE colt by the Calificado PRE stallion Donoso VII (IFS). During the 2019/2020 ZURDA was the proud mum to an orphan Thoroughbred foal taking the young one on as her own, a testament to her sweet, caring nature. At TORA V DRESSAGE we are very excited to welcome SENI ZURDA to our breeding program and believe the future foals by ZURDA with our Imported stallion JOYERO JF III will produce some of the finest PRE horses in the country with a prime focus of movement for dressage yet keeping the highest quality of PRE morphology and outstanding temperament. Without any doubt the offspring by SENI ZURDA and JOYERO JF III will have some of the most up and coming heavily influenced Escalera lines you will see within Australasia with JOYERO JF IIII being pure Escalera lines and SENI ZURDA carrying her impressive pedigree that is also heavily influenced by the Escalera line, particularly through the legendary Jose Luis de la Escalera stallion , MACAUNO which can be seen through her sire and dam line 6 times and LEBRIJANO, a stallion bred by Jose Luis de la Escalera. It holds true to this day that the LEBRIJANO III bloodline is often underwritten as a guarantee of dressage movement. Our Imported stallion JOYERO JF III is a grandson of LEBRIJANO III. ______________________________ THE BLOODLINES The Escalera line is one of the oldest and most prestigious bloodlines of the PRE horse, famed for breeding bay horses of uniformity and functionality. Escalera horses have a little less knee elevation, but have better extension, impulsion and suspension and as such are sought after for dressage. Yeguada Senillosa is a stud renown worldwide for producing horses of spectacular movement and strong genetics for functionality and dressage. SENI INDIO, the sire of Seni Zurda was a magnificent chestnut stallion by a Calificado sire and dam. SENI INDIO won bronze Medal in the Young Stallion finals at SICAB 2008. Before he past away August 2020 he sired 158 offspring around the world. https://victoriadavies.com.au/Zurda.html

16.01.2022 Today the breeding season started at Tora V with CELERE! This was an AI flush, which we always do at the start of every breeding season, you could say it wakes up the 'swimmers'! Not all stallion owners do this as it is an extra cost but is recommended by vets and to us this is important as we then know we are giving mare owners the best possible chance of a successful insemination; as it is said - the first collection of the season from a stallion will always be lower in po...tency and volume. Always ask the stallion owner if the stallion you wish to breed to has collected for the season. __________________________ CELERE (IMP) (Estoiro x Noz) Imported Approved Lusitano Stallion 'Short listed for the Tokyo Paralympic Games' Standing at stud this breeding season. 12.01.2022 Our very own Victoria Davies-Koch gives an insight and personal view of a question she was asked: "How do you find the Lusitano and PRE horses differ to Warmblood breeds?"

12.01.2022 Around the world with CELERE Celere was purchased March 2014 where he stayed in Portugal then later England prior to being imported to Australia August 2016. This plan was set in place to campaign CELERE for the European qualifiers in the lead up to the Rio Paralympics. During this time Victoria flew between the countries often for training and gained a wealth of knowledge of the breed.... In Portugal CELERE was campaigned at the famous Golegã fair and was winning at medium level in England. June 2015 CELERE was selected to represent Australia at the prestigious CPEDI Harpury, England. _________________________________ CELERE (IMP) (Estoiro x Noz) Imported Buckskin Lusitano Stallion For further photos and information please visit: https://www.victoriadavies.com.au/Celere.html

09.01.2022 I've come together with Leader Equine to share tips that I have learnt over the years which have helped me get through bad episodes with my health, keep my mind... positive and still continue to train and campaign my horses successfully. For those with an autoimmune disease like myself it means isolation is sadly a norm as the risk of infections or catching a simple cold can be life threatening. Mentally this can be challenging and we find ourselves forever trying to find ways to keep 'busy' which can create more of an issue as we 'forget' to rest or feel guilty for resting! If I can give you one valuable tip it would be to give yourself a break. Stay off the horses back! This may sound counter-intuitive, but spend a few days or even a week from not riding (this includes no in-hand work), and allow yourself to recharge your physical and mental self. Trust me, your horse wont mind if you dont ride! If anything they will also enjoy the rest by spending their day in the paddock munching grass and then coming up in the afternoon for dinner, its amazing what time off can do for a horse, even if its a few days. Like us horses get unmotivated, they get sore, they get tired of repetition and they can also sense our moods. Make yourself a coffee, watch that new series everyone is talking about, browse the online shops, video call your friends and if youre having a good day and feeling motivated, clean out the spare room! You all know the one Im talking about, the one thats floor to ceiling high of horse stuff that you either have 10 of the same or you havent used in 10 years! Take a photo and list those items up on Facebook to sell, I was amazed at how much I made in one day to a point I said to my husband, are you sure you need your golf clubs? (haha) I was able to make a solid dint in a pesky vet bill (this made me feel great) and then I was able to put some money away towards a pair of PS of Sweden competition breeches. I bet youre saying, well what do I do now that the few days or week is over? Well you ride of course! Do yourself a favor and download the music app Spotify or if you cant do that, have some type of music device in your pocket. Playing your favorite music whilst you ride is an amazing mood boost, and its a powerful tool in helping to find a good rhythm and tempo of your horse. Another important tip is to stop watching the clock! The worst thing you can do is keep checking to see if youve done 45mins, as this is your everyday norm. If you keep checking the clock, then riding will become a chore and even before you get on the horse you will be thinking when I get home I have to ride for 45mins and your mind will spiral into what I call the but game but Im tired, but Im running late, but I had a bad ride yesterday. Theres no rule saying how long you should ride your horse for. Horses are highly intelligent, they can sense time (routine) very well and if you ride for 45mins each day at 9am you will potentially create an issue, for example if you go to a clinic and you have a 1hr lesson at 5pm, or youre at a competition and your test is on at 8am, your horse is going to know this is not the norm and they are going to show you in some shape or form. Breaking a horses routine in my opinion causes stress and anxiety so I try not to have a routine! If you arent feeling motivated in the morning at 8am when you usually ride, you may be motivated at 2pm and just want a 20min ride, this is fine, you will actually be training your horse about time and being kind to your body and instead of not riding you will feel great about yourself that you actually pushed a bit and achieved a ride for that day. Mix it up. If you had a big training session the day before, spend today walking for 20mins, nothing else, just walk and dont tell me my horse wont learn anything from just walking. Wrong. Practice your walk pirouettes, walk leg yields, your square halts, and my favorite movement going from medium walk to free walk, then picking up the reins to medium walk. Be kind to yourself and your 4 legged partner in crime x www.victoriadavies.com.au

07.01.2022 Love this photo, it takes us back to sunny Autumn days After a week of battling floods and evacuating all the horses we are happy to have life somewhat getting back to normal. We are incredibly proud at how the horses took everything in their stride, especially the 'babies', loading in the dark, flood waters and staying in temporary homes for a few days. Everyone safe and we had no major incidents.... Now we look forward to a week of training, getting our young horse out to some dressage competitions over the next couple of weeks.
