24.01.2022 Before lockdown I spent a day in the glass blowing studio of Maureen Williams in St Kilda. The class organised by Blue Dog Glass was a roll up class with the well known artist Scott Chaseling. The students prepared glass tiles that were heated then rolled into functional forms, it was fantastic to watch masters of their craft create. Looking forward to post lockdown and visiting other studios

09.01.2022 Way back in March, before lockdown I visited the glass blowing studio of Melbourne’s Maureen Williams. The roll up class was organised by Blue Dog Glass with Scott Chaseling as the teacher. 01.01.2022 This image was taken in the early 90’s, before digital photography and photoshop were widely used. It was taken with an Arcaswiss view camera using a very saturated colour film, Fuji Velvia. (Say that one carefully after a few drinks.) The bee was procured from a nearby park and the Gerbera probably from Prahran Market at the end of the street. Shooting in a darkened studio and shifting the camera’s focus after one flash for the flower and one for the background produced the ...pink halo around the petal edges. What you see is a scan of the original transparency film. No photoshop manipulation at all. #filmphotography #analoguephotography #nophotoshop #largeformatphotography #studiophotography #nofilter #firstdayofspring
