07.01.2022 Selamat siang* Scintillating Sidewalkers. Welcome back to a New Year of all things Crab. On the back of a stellar effort from Groundskeeper Willie ,the Mudcrabs managed to get a game in against the Ferocious Fireballs . This ,despite all action in another cricket comp being called off due to long grass ,Outstanding stuff Willie. The scene at the toss was tense ,and a poor toss from the Crabking saw the Crabs rush the refreshments rotunda ,after being asked to wield the will...ow first. A dewy deck saw the most experienced Crabs promoted to the top of the order to see off the Fireballs opening onslaught. Unfortunately it seemed the scorebook was more in need of experience as Sirdale ,Jones the Contracted and the Prong were soon back reclining on the Verandah of Rumination ,leaving the Crabking to guide his younger charges to a defendable total of 54. Despite some concerns, due to the slow run rate ,it was found that the Crabking did indeed still have a pulse at the innings change. Following a leisurely innings change ,objected to by no one ,the Fiery Balls began the run chase and soon followed the Crab tactic of a slow run rate to enable a substantial lightening of the Extra Sports Kist Imbiber. A refreshing shower allowed further rehydration, and proved that cricketers are not made of sugar and can indeed PLAY CRICKET AFTER THE RAIN STOPS. The restart saw the Fiery Balls courageously overcome the Crustaceans by 1 wicket in a battle for the ages ,possible only in Suburban Districts Cricket. In late breaking COVID news it was announced today that NSW Health has cleared both teams of being able to catch anything ,with the exception of one short mid wicket fielder, who is currently under ASADA investigation. Unlucky ,Prong. So the W goes with the Kotara Fireballs ,but, once again an outstanding display ,by both teams, of ,something. Next weeks action comes to you live from the ocean ,against the competition frontrunners ,the Redheads. Crab on. See more

01.01.2022 Salutations Seaside Sidewalkers! Well ,butter my butt and call me a biscuit if this isn't a double edition of CRABS WASSUP. Last weeks match versus the comp leading Redheads has officially been declared a national disaster ,with the Crabs conceding 230plus runs ,whilst managing only a meagre 60odd in reply. With Bomber Thompson, a well disguised M Curry and a bloke with too many last names taking to the bowling like Tiger Woods at a Swedish Ladies spa ,the task looked like, ...and proved to be, a bridge too far for the shell shocked Crab outfit. Just like he who must not be named , Muddcrabbians will endeavour to never speak of this day again. Onwards to the match with Maryland Tavern, and if there's one thing all Crabs agree on , it's the love of a suburb named after a female sheep herder. Early signs were not good as the Crustaceans failed to take some opportunities in the field ,only having taken 1 wicket for 89 at the 20 over drinks break. The second session yielded only 2 further dismissals , but Superb close in fielding from SirDale and the Xfactor Morris(soon to be known as SupermodelMorris) restricted the score to 3 fa 137 by the close. The Crab innings fluctuated between total dominance of the bowling and abject despair at one point as the Crabs cracked , losing 6 fa 46 in the closing stages ,in a collapse sparked by the catching ability of young Isaac Allen. Fortunately the Crabs were seen home by Big Ben 'nerves of steel ' Horodecki ,in a clash for the ages. Special mention to Don 'the wild thing' Tait ,for registering his first ever double digit batting total. Next week ,strap on something protective as we take on fellow WILLIAMS DESIGNER HOMES sponsored Teralba Billygoats at Royal Waterboard . Til then , .Stay Crabby See more
