16.01.2022 Looking forward to performing in our local community this Sunday at Lake Macquarie's Up in the Air Festival. You can hear us at 11.20am on the southern side of the park, in between the Westlake Music Centre and the Rathmines Theatre. We are super excited to feature our training band, Catalina Brass who will open our performance followed by our senior band, Toronto Brass. Come along, have a listen and see what we're all about. Stop and have chat and we can tell you all abo...ut our training band as well as opportunities available for more advanced players. Training band rehearsal: Thursday 6.15 - 7.00pm. 16.01.2022 Catalina Brass is growing and it's very exciting! After our public performance last weekend, we have welcomed some new members to our ranks. If you or someone you know play a brass or percussion instrument or want to learn one, come along and see what we are all about. Bring your own instrument or talk to the band about hiring one. Not sure? Pop in for a listen. We rehearse from 6.15 - 7pm at Westlakes Music Centre, Rathmines on Thursdays and our senior advanced band... is from 7.30pm. 16.01.2022 A very big Thankyou to all our volunteers who help Toronto Brass run smoothly. Everyone that helps with the organisation of concerts and general running of the band behind the scenes as well as those who volunteer their time to help our training band on Thursday nights. We could not run our organisation without you.
15.01.2022 Another snippet from our carolling today. The cicadas gave us some stiff competition. This year we are not able to do our annual street carolling (COVID!) so there aren't as many opportunities to hear us in the community. 13.01.2022 Toronto Brass have had a busy couple of weekends doing concerts in our local community. A concert at the lovely Rathmines Theatre last week followed up with an outdoor concert yesterday at the Up in The Air Festival with so many locals and visitors watching. We are very lucky to call Rathmines home. We are immensely proud of our training band, Catalina Brass, who performed to a very large crowd yesterday at the Up in the Air Festival at Rathmines. Made up of young brass ...and percussion players from the local area, along with some adult learners, this was their first post Covid concert and the audience was large and very receptive. Brilliant job everyone! Want to be part of this great organisation? Learn an instrument and make new friends? Come along and give us a try. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings. 10.01.2022 We won't be able to see everyone around the streets for our annual street carolling fundraising this year. You can still support us and get your festive music fix by joining us for our one and only Christmas concert this year (actually our one and only concert!). We are so excited to be able to reconnect face to face with our audience so come and join us and enjoy a light afternoon of festive music with afternoon tea included in the ticket price.
