16.01.2022 Are you aware of what a DPF delete involves for you and your vehicle? 1. Firstly, it is illegal to remove or modify your DPF. An increase in roadside inspections is resulting in massive fines- we’re talking in excess of $10 000 for an individual 2. Removing a DPF will result in an un-roadworthy vehicle. This will void your insurance. 3. In the event of an accident, you will be held accountable regardless of who is at fault, as in the eyes of the law your vehicle should not be... on the road. 4. In selling a vehicle with a DPF delete, you may have to provide the buyer with a Roadworthy Certificate which will require a DPF reinstall 5. Deleting a DPF requires sensors to be turned off through the ECU. This will void your warranty. Are the consequences really worth it?

16.01.2022 A good exhaust will make a difference to any engine, but if you're running a turbo diesel you really need the best you can get. We hear you asking why...The turbo delivers air to your engine to boost power and then the exhaust drives the turbo. While this is very cool it can also cause issues. One thing you don't want is too much back pressure, which the turbo can cause. Secondly, a weak flow of gasses in the exhaust will reduce the turbo's performance. A premium, high flow exhaust system will keep backpressure to a minimum and also improve your flow. When everything is flowing smoothly, you will get an improved response and higher turbo pressures, which really lets your engine get to work! 11.01.2022 Titanium Coated vs Ceramic Coated Dump Pipe When it comes to coating the Dump Pipe one of the main aims is to disperse heat. Titanium and Ceramic Coatings both achieve this, so what’s the difference? Ceramic coatings are sourced from carbon, organic materials which are much more delicate than the precious metals that make up titanium. ... Ceramic coatings do not age well- marks and chips gradually wear away at the coating, creating corrosion at the cracks, and eventually becoming extremely brittle. Titanium is a tough, low-corrosion metal which has a longer lifespan and is much more durable. The coating eventually vaporizes over time, and changes color while still maintaining its form and looking good years later. How long do the titanium coatings last? 10.01.2022 Who's had a drive of the new 2021 Dmax? It's had quite the overhaul, with a new body and chassis, new engine, updated transmissions, reworked suspension, and a lot of extra technology. In terms of power and torque, the new engine has increased the output to 140KW/ 450NM and promises to increase the pulling power, improve the performance, and use less fuel. The Torqit 3" Performance Exhaust to suit this latest model capitalises on this extra power, with the 304 grade stainless steel adding a louder, deeper note, improving the flow of gases, and reducing the EGT's. A comment we hear often is 'by the time hot gas comes out of the engine all the important stuff has already happened'. In part, this is true however there is more to do. 07.01.2022 Wondering what parameters the ModuleMap adjusts on your vehicle? Here's exactly what we're changing... Injection Quantity: This refers to the amount of fuel delivered to an engine cylinder per power stroke. The ModuleMap increases gas and boosts pressure by adjusting the amount of fuel delivered to each cylinder. Injector Phase: The ModuleMap adjusts the injector cycle so it’s completed at the exact moment the intake valve starts to open, preventing fuel from evaporating... before being sucked into the cylinder. This significantly improves fuel economy and creates more power without raw fuel going into the exhaust. Rail Pressure: Constant monitoring of fuel pressure at the fuel rail ensures optimised atomisation, and consistency that is critical to maximum performance. Power Limiters: The ModuleMap increases performance by raising or removing the power limiters on your vehicle. Air Fuel Ratio: The air to fuel ratio is adjusted and optimised to safely match the desired boost level, creating more output than the original ratio. Turbo Boost Pressure: This can be mapped and closely controlled as a closed loop calculation that defines the turbo boost and ratio of air going into the vehicle. Injection Timing: Together with the rail pressure, this controls the amount of fuel being provided to the cylinders timeframe, and adjusts how much fuel is burned. Smoke Limiter Maps: The ModuleMap can disable/ control this parameter, which restricts the amount of fuel injected to control in-complete combustion (to reduce black smoke and soot.) Fuel Load Increase and Decrease: The quantity of fuel added to the air/fuel mixture can be adjusted to situations where the load is either increasing or decreasing as opposed to a steady state or constant load situation.
