Protecting her and the calf from the cold winds and hail with woollen blankets and old horse rugs. Tonight she stood up, we r overjoyed!calf is wrapped in Nicoles coat to protect it from the hail!

06.01.2022 Fudge is the very proud mother of this babe. She gave birth standing up yesterday afternoon. The calf dropped to the ground in its membranous sac. Fudge quickly broke the sac and efficiently licked and chewed it. Then she swallowed it. Video shows her licking the calf clean . This also stimulates circulation and encourages calf to stand up. Calf stood up 10 minutes after birth and despite being wobbly, searched for a teat. Fudge would have also eaten the placenta. Highly nutritious for her

02.01.2022 The best news of all, after 4 days of lieing in the paddock unable to care for or suckle her calf, with a tremendous effort maid stood up on the fifth morning. You can see her standing up in this photo.
