14.01.2022 Hello everyone, I have recently been updated that as of midnight tonight there will be further Covid 19 restrictions in place in Victoria ensuring people only leave their homes for medical needs, food and supplies, exercise and work. This restriction does not allow for you to leave your home for your dog to be groomed or bathed. Out of respect for our community and my beautiful neighbours I would encourage everyone to stay at home. At this point in time I am able to coll...ect your dog from your home or workplace if you are in Torquay. Please do not come to me directly for your appointment. I will arrange to come to you for pickup and drop off. If you are very close by I will walk to your home wearing my protective outfit. I will still follow the infection control procedures I have in place to protect me and you however in addition I will offer the following if I pickup your dog with my car; I will collect your dog from your house in the morning You will place your dog into the crate in the back of my wagon I won’t get out of the car Once you have closed the crate, said goodbye and you are at a distance I will exit my car and close the boot Your dog is bathed and groomed I return your dog in the afternoon using the same procedure but in reverse To reassure you I will wear a mask, gloves, gown and surgical cap when clipping and drying your dog so that they come back to you not only smelling and looking amazing but their fur will be hygienic and safe for you and your family. I will also have a plastic barrier in the back of my car and clean both the cage and barrier after each use. All procedures will aim to prevent any human face to face contact however I anticipate in the near future that it will be apparent the risk will be too high and we will need to cease temporarily. For the time being though I’m trying to make sure everyone’s doggies are going to be comfortable and well in preparation for the coming challenging months ahead. I would like to reach out to all of you at this difficult time ahead and let you know I’m thinking of you and looking forward to life getting back to normal in a few months. I would like to reassure everyone that I have put much thought into infection control measures to ensure that if you need to have your doggy groomed and bathed that at this point we may be able to still do this. The procedure to drop off and collect your doggy will be;... I have a crate setup near my garage roller door which is cleaned between use with F10 veterinary disinfectant Place your doggy in the clean extra large crate with their lead and collar on Lock the cage I will chat to you by phone or from a distance about what you want and paying for the products used I will collect your doggy from the crate wearing protective mask boots gloves hairnet and outfit I will bath your doggy Change my outfit Then blow wave your dog I will clip your dog clean and return them to the crate for you when you are ready to collect them Your dog will be wearing their collar and lead ready for you Collect your doggy from the crate and let me know I will disinfect the crate with F10 Veterinary disinfectant mixed at a virus killing rate once you have removed your doggy. I have cleaned my instruments with F10 veterinary disinfectant and an 80/20 mix of methylated spirits and water. Please feel free to ask questions as I have moderate knowledge of infection control measures having worked in laboratory settings and veterinary clinics for my career over 30 years as an animal technician. Again no problem if you decide to wait however I think it would be a good idea to book ahead as I’m forecasting that there will be an increased demand for my services once we begin to get back to normal. I only see between 1 to 3 doggies per week so we can always book and then cancel if this goes longer than we expect. Please all keep safe and well and give all of your doggies a big hug from me
