24.01.2022 26 weeks (6 months!) since we last got together at parkrun. We miss seeing our parkrun community in real life but our online community is as strong as ever! We will keep celebrating our amazing community of volunteers, but these posts will be intermingled with our favourite leaps of the week and barkrunners! Lulu received an honourable mention for her support of run director Chris - but we think she is worthy of her own celebration!! She has run more than 250 parkruns!!! 16.01.2022 Week 39 and we are celebrating our tail walkers! You never come last at parkrun! One of the best things when you start parkrunning and think 5km is a long way is knowing that you won’t be last. Our tail walkers walk the course, cheering on our runners and walkers and keeping us all safe.... Fun fact: tail walker is the only vollie position where you get a run credit and a volunteer credit- great it you are wanting a milestone t-shirt

15.01.2022 Week 34 and today we are celebrating milestones! Did you know that parkrun loves to celebrate milestones? And at Torquay parkrun we really love a celebration!! You can earn a t-shirt for completing 10 junior parkruns, volunteering 25 times and for completing 50, 100, 250 and then 500(!) parkruns.... 11.01.2022 THANK YOU FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY WISHES! We loved sharing your parkrun birthday celebrations, the cakes, the leaps, the well wishes so good to be reminded how fantastic our community is! The judges have certainly had a tough time deciding on a winner for our bake off! Everyone was awesome, but Ashtyn's and Taylor's cakes are da bomb! Thank you ladies you rock! 03.01.2022 Week 38 and we are celebrating our amazing local coffee shop The Salty Dog Cafe Torquay. Torquay parkrun starts and ends at the Salty Dog. Some parkrunners are known to run just because they want the awesome coffee at the end! Thanks to the Salty Dog for the caffeine hits, yummy brekkies and support of your local parkrun.
