25.01.2022 When the lovely wife turns 50 and hints incessantly about some garden artwork she'd like. I guess there's nothing more you can do than buy it for her. The catch? It was in Scone NSW, some 380km's from home. Damn you marketplace!... Fortunately, i had a brand spanking new Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain, press car, a full tank of fuel, nine hours to spare and a sense of adventure, job done. The bonus, i found this cool photo location in Muswellbrook on the way home. #besthusbandeva

24.01.2022 Spent a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon, chasing Stars and dodging rain clouds in what, for a moment looked to be a total washout in a quarry ready to turn to mud. Luckily the clouds parted and rain drifted away for what turned out to be a really good shoot.

23.01.2022 Hi all, Yes I'm still going about my business, but i know I've been a bit quiet on the socials lately. It's not really my fault. You see we got hit by the fires and suffered quite a bit of damage of which i am trying to sort through.... Meanwhile, Toby from promotions went on a bender and got caught in a compromising position with a stripper, a donkey and a can of dairy whip, and now his missus won't let him leave the house. As a result there haven't been any promotional posts lately, it's been a tough few months. I'll get back into full swing real soon. Cheers.

The Western Star brand has had a bit of a run lately for Torque It Up, and true to their name they shine bright. Two fine examples from JT's Earthworks & Bulk Haulage out of Greta and a recent fit-out of the latest JERR-DAN recovery body by Kent Collision for Hobart Towing.

20.01.2022 Following on from the sudden passing away of Chris Mullett, founder and editor of both Power Torque and Delivery Magazine, we contributors have been extremely busy producing content while still coming to terms with Chriss sudden death. So the old socials have been a bit quiet lately, but we must carry on in tribute to a great man. I have had so many new release press vehicles of late that i struggle to identify my own car in a parking area.... Heres just a couple from the three-pointed star.

16.01.2022 Well after a week of reacquainting myself with my more youthful inner hoon, courtesy of the BIG Chevy, i must say it was with reluctance that i handed the keys back yesterday. Theres something about the rumble of a 6.2LT V8 that gets the oil pumping around the galleries. Full review in the August issue of Delivery Magazine

15.01.2022 Just for those who don't know, it's "Heeeno" not "Hi no" The execs at Hino like to make that clear, and cringe when you get it wrong. Regardless of my poor pronunciation skills, they still lent me a truck for a week, ( top bunch of guys and girls). So instead of tapping way diligently on the keyboard to write a few stories "Yawn", I chose the much more funner (yes, that's a word now) option and took the "Heeeno" for a spin around some state forest tracks to get those shiny t...yres dirty and check out her flex. But then, in a moment of beer induced clarity and optimism you realise that theres time for another one. Well the original owner of this classic KW said the same thing about this truck to his missus, "Fair Dinkum love", thisll be my last one. What she didnt realise was, he would still be driving it some 38 years later. ... Read all about this classic W-model in the February issue of Powertorque Magazine.

My driveway has had a distinct, Japanese truck feel this past month or so, with the latest release of the all new Hino 300-series and back to back, week long road test reviews. This could explain why my Toyota wouldn't start after the final Hino was picked up, and I was forced to drive my own vehicle again.

11.01.2022 Well if the good folk at Isuzu UTE Australia, are kind enough to toss me the keys to the new D-Max flagship, the X-Terrain for the week, the least i can do is take it for a short spin. Picton NSW to Scone return, and some 700kms later, i really got a nice feel for the new Isuzu. The freeway was never going to do and as i always seek out the road less traveled, the Putty Road provided a chance to really get those tyres warmed up (maybe a bit too much at times), undeterred the... new ute excelled and performed admirably. 07.01.2022 Spent a cold Southern Highlands morning chasing this shot for Menai Haulage. The good news is that my ears thawed out by lunchtime and i now have feeling back in my nose. Worth every second.

07.01.2022 Well, it's time to hit the PC and the editing suite, then log into Word and get writing stories. But it's not all work doom and gloom, Sunday. I did manage to get out in old " Mabel" for some 70's style truckin this morning with a scrappy run to the local tip, by local i mean an 80km round trip.... As per usual, she performed flawlessly while snubbing her distinctive red nose at the greenies, dutifully puffing out smoke and diesel particulates, typical of a six-litre, 1973 diesel truck. Thankfully, to satisfy my environmental conscience, we were on a recycling run which should go partway to off-setting our carbon footprint, for the day! Have a crackin Sunday arvo.

06.01.2022 Something a little different to round out 2020. A feature on a classic cabover Kenworth in the December issue of Owner Driver magazine, with many layers to its story and just as many layers of old paint to sand back.

05.01.2022 Desperate times call for desparate measures. Its been dry for so long we have ducks here that dont know how to swim. So to keep the house water tanks full and discourage possums from moving in, i bought old Mabel here, affectionately known as "Mabel the water wench"... I guess the up-side of the drought is, it was easy to convince the trouble n strife that i needed a toy, i mean we needed water truck (nice save Wazza). I am slowly fixing her up a bit on a budget. so far ive straightened and painted the bumper, painted the grille, wheels and side steps and added a sunvisor, (surprisingly still available new). I also gave myself a permanent arm injury polishing up that rosey red paint, which looked as though it hadnt been washed in decades. Ill post pics every now and then as the resto. progresses.
