10.01.2022 When returning to Australia or travelling overseas, we know many of you will need to go into mandatory quarantine and this can be quite daunting. A member of ...the Smartraveller team went into quarantine when visiting family interstate. We asked him to share his quarantine tips: establish a routine allocate work and rest times, and times to contact family and friends separate your work space from spaces where you rest (try to) eat healthy options exercise regularly (even if it’s star jumps and sit ups) switch off (when you can) from news and social media do something creative listen to music, draw, read practise physical distancing and good hand hygiene (particularly when you first go into quarantine and when you leave) be respectful to those who check in on you, including staff from the hotel, government authorities and the Red Cross Check out resources for coping with quarantine at Australian Government Department of Health - Head to Health and Beyondblue. Quarantine is managed differently depending on where you are. For more info and links for the different Australian rules, see: https://www.smartraveller.gov.au/while-/returning-australia or our travel advice for your destination. #beinformed #beprepared #WellnessWednesday

02.01.2022 "For decades upon decades, disabled people have been socially marginalised and isolated. Festivals like Fringe, which continually try to improve their accessibi...lity, help address that." Today is International Day for People with Disability! To mark the occasion, we did an interview with our fabulous Access and Inclusion Coordinator, Kelly Vincent. Read more here: http://adlfrin.ge/XhJbI3 [Image description: our Access and Inclusion Coordinator, Kelly, sitting before a colourfully painted wall, smiling for the camera. Kelly sits in their black manual wheelchair, looking androgynous in a black Pink Floyd t-shirt and black pants. Kelly wears round, tortoiseshell glasses and a red beanie covers most of their auburn hair.]
