24.01.2022 In light of the current Northern Suburbs COVID-19 cluster, Little Athletics SA has made the decision to POSTPONE the State PB Class...ic I which was due to be held on Sunday 22nd November 2020. Little Athletics SA is taking early precaution, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to assist with clubs being able to continue to operate at a club level. As soon as we have a new date for the State PB Classic I, we will be in contact with all clubs and members. : Athlete’s registrations and their event selections for the State PB Classic I will transfer through to the new date, and you will not have to re-register for the event once the new date is announced. We apologies for any inconvenience caused. Our first priority as an association is the safety of all athletes, families, volunteers and staff. Thank you for your understanding.

20.01.2022 Hi families, it's with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that we are cancelling tonight's meet because of the weather.. we are so disappointed and it's not a decision we make lightly, but your child's safety (and enjoyment) are our top priority.. We had an amazing night planned, plus a free BBQ, but we can guarantee that we will make next Friday even more fun and we will still have the free bbq!! 19.01.2022 Hey everyone, so we are going to go ahead with the meeting tonight.. There is a decent rain cloud (that is over Burra at the moment), but we are crossing our fingers and toes that it will stay away for long enough that we can meet everyone, have a few runs and throws and get around the free BBQ!! We think it will hit around 5.40, which is enough time to get started, and we decided that, as we cancelled last week it was important to come out and meet everyone and get the season started.. If you know anyone who was hoping to come, but may not have seen this msg, can you please pass it on... Cheers..

Highlighted event shows your groups first event - please check that this event has been setup, if not speak to a member of the Committee who will direct you on setting up ... Also note the group you are allocated to (this will also be available to view tomorrow), if you are not on this list please email [email protected].

18.01.2022 Unfortunately, the forecast is not in our favour again this week! The Committee will keep monitoring the ever changing weather patterns, we want to give ourselves every opportunity to go ahead and therefore will not make a final call to cancel until around 3pm on Friday afternoon. Same groups as last week, take note of your groups first (highlighted) event and please ensure when you arrive this event has been put out. The quicker we can get everything out the earlier we can start :-) Tiny Tot: All the usual tiny tot equipment plus 4 (at least) adults to help get 1 scissor mat out, please when you arrive see Stacey/Kath to help.... U6/U7: Discus trolley and half circle needs to be put out. U8: Long Jump (x2 trolley's) plus mat, tape measure etc. U9: Turbo Jav's to be carried out U10/U11: Ensure cones for 100m are placed Senior : 2 x shot put trolley's

16.01.2022 PRESENTATION 2021: SUNDAY 18th APRIL @ 12:30pm The time has come for our final event of the Season!! Please join us to celebrate all the achievements of our Little Athletes this season .from our Tiny Tots to our Seniors and all age groups in between.... Who will take home GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE in your age group? Who has topped the attendance charts? Who will win the Chaperones Choice Award in your group? Who has been awarded the TVLAC Sportsmanship Award? All parents, carers, family and friends are welcome! This year we are back at Birdwood Football Club. The club are providing lunch as follows: Schnitzel (Beef or Chicken) and Chips $10 Nuggets and Chips ($5) The bar will be open for drinks. Unfortunately, no shared platters again this year so bring your own side salad, snacks or alternative food if required. The State PB (Personal Best) Classic presents an exciting opportunity for athletes of all ages and abilities to compete in a meet at the SA Athletics Stadium. This event is OPEN to all registered members from Tiny Tots to Under 17 age group.... There are no qualifying standards for this event, and nominations close on Wednesday 4 November 2020! As long as you are registered before then you can come and be part of the TVLAC team. This is a great opportunity to run, jump and throw at the SA Athletics Stadium and meet with other Little Athletics Clubs. A fantastic, non-competitive day out for all the Family. 14.01.2022 Hi families, well this week’s forecast is looking promising (at this stage) so fingers crossed the rain comes tomorrow and not Friday! We had a committee meeting last night and just wanted to let you know a few things before Friday as there are lots of new families this year (which is great!). Ps, sorry for the long post, there is just lots of important info to get out! We are going to have another free BBQ this week, the only thing you have to pay for are drinks ($1) and i...ce creams ($1-$2). There is an honesty box on the table, please only adults to use this system as sometimes kids tend to help themselves which isn’t good! As we spoke about last week, Little Athletics is slightly different to Footy and Netball in that we need a lot more parent help. We have found that this not only increases the athlete’s enjoyment, it builds strong family relationships along the way. There are 3 main ways to help; chaperoning, measuring and timing as well as set-up and pack-up. Chaperones are in charge of the group and keep things moving along. Measurers are required to use the tape measure and wooden blocks to record how long the throw is. You don’t need to measure every throw, we only record the furthest throw. Timers use either apps Beepwatch Lite (for IPhone) or UltrachronLite (for Android) to record the times for each race. The Lions Club have been very generous and are helping us with the BBQ for the first 3 weeks, please say thanks by buying either a fruit cake or some raffle tickets from them. After the first 3 weeks, we are going to implement our BBQ roster. This will just mean that you have to volunteer once per season. We have a PB day upcoming at Mile End Stadium, it’s on the 22nd of November and is a great chance for your son/daughter to experience what it is like competing at the best Athletics Stadium in the state and also make some new friends from other clubs. If you wanted to buy one of the cool club T Shirts, the best way is to do it on results HQ when you are registering your son/daughter (any issues/ sizes please see us on Friday night) We are still offering the ‘goodie bags’ if you bring along a buddy, so please let us know if you have brought someone from your school. - We would love it if all the come and tries became fully registered athletes. If you could register earlier in the week that would be better, just so that we can make sure their name is on the recording sheet and we have a better idea of numbers for the different groups. We are hoping to have high jump out this week so that will be something fun for the kids to look forward to! Keep your eye out for the event and group posting tomorrow. Can we please ask ALL families to sign-in again at the desk.

This means, that unless things change in the next few days this week's meet is off- 2020 has thrown up some fairly decent challenges already and I think we just have to roll with the punches and be ready when we are given the green light.. this is made even more annoying by the fact that we have such an amazing group of not only athletes, but also parents happy to help out... Sorry if this causes any issues, it's out of our hands and I just hope everyone can get on board so we can get back to some kind of normality sooner rather than later...
