21.01.2022 Did you know that stone fruit, such as the cherry, require good chill years of roughly 800 hours at less then 8 degrees, to initiate strong flowering in the spring. This is why cherrys are grown in the Adelaide Hills and not the Adelaide Plains. We’re hoping for a colder winter than last!

17.01.2022 Last Friday we attended the Asia Eport Exhibition, in Adelaide. This event was aimed at developing different approaches for international sales, to increase profitability and share ideas with other South Australian exporters.

15.01.2022 A late start to the colder weather, but our Barmera Orchard is feeling the chill this morning!

12.01.2022 Packing samba variety 34-36mm today.

11.01.2022 Large, firm cherries are produced from strong flower buds developed on healthy trees. On the left hand side we have 6 fat floral buds with 1 leaf bud in the centre of the cluster. And on the right, is the floral initiation inside the flower bud. Each floral bud will have between 4-5 flowers, which means a heavy flowering this season.

01.01.2022 Have a look at that backdrop The posts for our crop canopies have been delivered! The new netting going up at our Quinn’s Crops will reduce implications such as heat, hail, sun and wind damage, as well as birds and bats!... Thank you to Netpro Canopies!
