24.01.2022 It's still 154 days until Christmas but we decided to celebrate early with a Christmas in July lunch .... with a twist. Independent residents were encouraged to have a few friends over for lunch - whilst maintaining social distance guidelines. They had their lunch delivered to their units by Santa () and his helper (). Apartment residents enjoyed their lunch in the dining room, with a few decorations on the table, and Christmas napkins and bonbons. Happy Christmas in July everyone

23.01.2022 From everyone at RetireAustralia, we wish our residents and their families a safe and happy Easter. Even though we’ve come a long way in the past 12 months, some people may be spending another Easter in isolation. Wherever you are, we hope you’re finding ways to stay connected with your loved ones.... May Easter in 2021 bring you joy, peace, and time with those you love (even if it’s virtual).

19.01.2022 As we work our way through the COVID-19 crisis, its heartening to see that initial measures and restrictions have been largely effective at slowing the spread of COVID-19 in Australia and keeping it out of our villages and your homes. But we must remain vigilant. We've received some enquiries recently asking for clarification about the measures currently in place in our villages. Read our latest update to find out more about the status of measures in place within our comm...unities. http://ow.ly/1I3M50zy2M8

19.01.2022 When times are tough, Australians have always relied on the distinctive qualities of mateship, humour, ingenuity, courage and endurance to get us through. Known as the #ANZACSpirit, these five qualities have defined Australians ever since the first troops landed on the beaches of Gallipoli in World War I. Given the current situation, ANZAC Day 2020 will be very different to previous years. The RSL have put together a list of ways in which we can still acknowledge ANZAC Day an...d remember our servicemen and women. Show your support #ANZACSpirit https://www.rslnsw.org.au/anzac-spirit/

17.01.2022 "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them."... Residents turned up for a morning tea to commemorate Remembrance Day from 10.30. The flag was lowered to half last until The Last Post was played when Maurie proudly raised the flag, wearing his medals

17.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun... and in the morning We will remember them. On this day, and always, we recognise and remember the services and sacrifice of our veterans and serving personnel, in particular those who are residents, team members and family. #anzacday #lestweforget

16.01.2022 We love this story of Del and Evon who live in one of our sister villages. Everyone has a story, and it often influences their decision to move into a retirement village to make the most of their retirement years. Across our communities we have old friends and family living side-by-side, so this story really struck a chord with us.

16.01.2022 The ladies are out today on their Iso Exercise jaunt around the village

15.01.2022 Today (and every day!) we are celebrating the wise, loving mother figures in our lives mums, grandmas, aunties, carers and best friends. We often hear about the wisdom of mothers and how they’re always right , so we thought we’d share some of our favourite mum advice: Think good thoughts.... Do what makes you happy. Never miss an opportunity to learn a new skill. Love wholeheartedly and be strong, no matter the circumstances. Anything worth having is worth working for. Lose with dignity and win with pride. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Always put on some lipstick. It’ll make you feel good. What’s the best advice your mum ever gave you? Share in the comments below

08.01.2022 Melbourne Cup Happy Hour, COVID-style, was attended by a few residents who enjoyed the seated drinks and the race

08.01.2022 More than 100 years ago, at 11am on 11 November 1918, the guns on the Western Front fell silent after four years of the most brutal war the world had seen. In the four years of that war, more than 330,000 Australians served overseas, and over 60,000 had died. Today, on 11 November we mark that anniversary, and remember all those who sacrificed so much for us all, both in WWI, and all the wars, conflicts and operations that have happened since, and still continue today.... We particularly honour and celebrate those among our residents, and their families, who are veterans of conflicts, and hope that you will join us in paying our respects and express our gratitude for all they have given.

07.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.... Lest We Forget.

05.01.2022 Wedding bells are in the air at Torrens Grove This Sunday, Kaye, our VM, will be marrying Doug Although they couldn't have the big, sumptuous occasion they both wished for (due to the COVID-19 limitations), at least they can still get married, albeit with only a total of five people in attendance. At least it gives them a brilliant excuse to have another celebration when all the restrictions are lifted, and, Kaye will get to wear her wedding dress twice (which is m...ore than most brides can say)!! We all wish Kaye and Doug much love and happiness for their future together and hope that their love for each other continues to blossom
