25.01.2022 Ojo has the snuffles and is self-isolating while awaiting test result. So no Ojo clip this week. We’re working on an alternative. Meanwhile, hope you’re having a whale of a time in this lively weather.

24.01.2022 Personal parky #29, and what a lovely morning down at the weir. This week on ‘Ojo hangs with’, Ojo hangs with Linda and Peter

24.01.2022 Personal parky #28, and a bit humid down at the weir. This week on ‘Ojo hangs with’, Ojo hangs with Belinda and Mal.

23.01.2022 This is the space where a personal parky video clip normally sits. Alas, clipper Ojo is on his back. With the arrival of lockdown earlier this week, Ojo threw himself into the extreme sport of speed mulching. Basically this involves urgent shovelling of mulch into a barrow and getting it to the veggie patch before nightfall. Alas, with haste can come the loss of good form. Long story short: can’t walk this morning. But there’s nothing mulch Ojo can do about that. ... So we reach out to you, our parkrun pals, to tell us how you’re dealing with the latest little lockdown. Where did you run/walk today? What are your plans for a weekend of wellness? And we need your puns about the backyard, to make folk go ‘hoe, hoe, hoe’. Thank you very mulch.

21.01.2022 Personal parky #19. At the Broo bridge with Ojo

20.01.2022 Personal parky #21. Get out there!

20.01.2022 This week’s LEGENDARY Torrens volunteer team pic. These are the superstars who brought you Torrens event #417

20.01.2022 We know this is not what you want to read right now, but alas the parkrun return this Saturday has been pushed back by at least two weeks because of you-know-what. Watch this space for further updates.

18.01.2022 Personal parky #26 down at the Torrens. This week on ‘Ojo Hangs With’, Ojo hangs with Trace The bee emojis are because Trace has just finished his PhD in bees, which to my regret I didn’t ask him about in the video clip because it didn’t seem relevant to running (unless you’re running away from an angry one)

18.01.2022 Personal parky #22, and Ojo managed to get a post up. Yes! Post a comment; tell us what you ran/walked and where. Hugs xx

16.01.2022 Personal parky #34 with Ojo telling you some IMPORTANT THINGS about next week’s restart

12.01.2022 Personal parky #25 down at the Torrens. This week on ‘Ojo Hangs With’, Ojo hangs with Karen From Virginia

12.01.2022 Don't forget to check in each time. This will stay at the top of our page to make it easier for those who don't wish to carry their phones when running. Or you can scan in at the QR code by the start line.

11.01.2022 Personal parky #30 down at the mighty Torrens . And this week on ‘Ojo Hangs With’, Ojo hangs with John The Welshman

10.01.2022 We are delighted to advise parkrun is restarting in South Australia this Saturday 5th December [pause for dramatic effect, so you can punch the air, whoop, do a little jig, etc]. We're all pretty excited and can't wait to see you. There are some things we need you to read and remember. 1) in support of folk staying covid-safe, we suggest you download the 'mySA Gov' app to your phone and use it to scan our event QR code (available at the event on the day and on this page later... this week). This will help contact tracing by gov should there be an issue. Note we have hand sanitizer available for all participants 2) bring your barcode. We cannot write down your details if you forget your barcode, and we can't scan it off your phone. No barcode, no time 3) we no longer have a barcode box so can no longer store your barcode at the event. Refer point 2 above. 4) we have moved the finish line to be in the same place as the start line (which also means the turnaround is further out). So the entire event setup will operate from the stand of trees next to the carpark entrance. If you go to the usual place near the cafe, that is now the wrong place. WRONG WAY; GO BACK! 5) the Run Briefing needs to be super-short, which means Ojo will have to speak at the speed of light, or focus on a general welcome and course safety. Ojo is being assisted to adjust. 6) we no longer have free coffee vouchers for volunteers. If that stops you from volunteering in the future, you're placing way too much emphasis on coffee 7) please follow all instructions, especially in the finish area where we will be running a long 'finish funnel' leading to several volunteers waiting to scan your barcode and finish token, and without actually touching either of them. You will hold up your barcode, have it scanned, and then the same with the finish token which you will then drop into a bucket. Easy. If any of the above points leave you discontented, please don't bend the ear of the nearest volunteer, because it's not their job to listen to how you think things should be. instead, direct your feedback to Ojo, the guy in the straw hat. He can't change anything for you, but it might make you feel better. We hope you will agree that the above points are a very small price to pay for the recommencement of a wonderful thing called parkrun. Ok, that's the serious stuff landed. Now hit those 'like' and 'share' buttons, and get excited

10.01.2022 Personal parky 31 at the weir. This week Ojo hangs with...Rhys

10.01.2022 Ojo hangs with Ingrid, at personal parky #32. AND IT’S THREE WEEKS TO GO UNTIL REBOOT!

08.01.2022 Behold! Ojo’s post-parky brekkie. Vegan dumpling noodle salad from the mighty Joe’s Dumpling at Plant 4. What did you have for your post-parky brekkie?

07.01.2022 The highly informal, no-official-times, not-to-be-missed Longest Run is on this coming Sunday. You can run/walk up to seven, yes SEVEN, parkrun courses. With a choice of starting in the northern suburbs, the southern suburbs or the hills, the 7th and last course is the lovely Torrens. A few of us are planning to do it. Hit the likes or comments if you’re planning to be part of it, and we can use this post to coordinate a Torrens posse. It’s great fun and you will meet new p...eople as well as familiar faces https://fb.me/e/1jAYUpgbE

07.01.2022 It’s SATURDAY!!

06.01.2022 Personal parky 33, and check out the NEW FINISH AREA at Torrens parkrun

05.01.2022 Three weeks today, and we’re back!! As with every event, we’re going to need volunteers so let us know if you can help out; post a comment here or message us or email us. Tailwalker and photographer gigs already taken, but all other roles available

05.01.2022 The stopwatch has been retired. Take one last look at this standard piece of equipment, which has been superseded by the phone in your hand. All SA parkruns will now be recording times exclusively using the parkrun volunteer app. It’s easy. For example, if you have an iPhone you go to the App Store, search ‘parkrun virtual volunteer’, and download the free app (and its a similar gig for Android phones). With this app you can be either the timekeeper or the barcode scanner and it is soooooo much easier than the old equipment. So who’s in? We need a timekeeper for our restart on 21 November. Put a comment here or message us or email us

04.01.2022 So we did a quick test of the revised course design yesterday, with a small group of parkrun pals. All set for next Saturday. With thanks to Stu Thomson for the pics, here’s Ojo practising how to keep the run briefing to less than 2 minutes. He failed.
