25.01.2022 Occasionally the various theatre organ societies are contacted by people who are selling organs. It is often difficult to assist due to the time lag of getting the various newletters or journals to members. To facilitate easier advertising of organs for sale a new Facebook group has been setup. Please feel free to use it: This group is a way of perhaps providing a source of sharing of known organs and sometimes keyboards for sale in Australia. Create ads or links to ads f...rom other sources. This group is not intended to be a discussion forum for other issues such as maintenance, repairs, playing styles etc. Merely to get ads "out there" to prevent instruments being ditched. https://www.facebook.com/groups/240759980764146

16.01.2022 Today we had our 2019 AGM and afterwards the first member access to the console of our Christie. Most of the Accompaniment chamber was given its first tuning about 9 days prior but of course with severe dry weather it has wandered badly. This of course will be rectified as it settles in. Here are members Peter Held and John Batts having a play. Theres a way to go yet but it is getting there.... #Uniflex #Christie #retro

Committee Members - Ernie Vale (Editor), Theo Langenberg, Robert Gliddon, Barry Tooker, David Badman and new committee member Pam Lawson. 12.01.2022 TOSA NSW is sad to inform our members and friends that Life Member, Mrs Eunice Palmer passed away on Monday evening, 17 December. A funeral service for Eunice will be held at the South Chapel of Rookwood at 10:30am on Friday 21st of December 2018. The Palmer family have been involved in TOSA NSW since its inception in the 1960s and Neil Palmer is a long serving Vice President.... Our deepest sympathies go out to the family.

08.01.2022 Just before the committee meeting last Monday night the committee members were treated to a short reveal of progress to date on the Christie. Everything in the main chamber is on wind and playable from the console. However very little of it is in proper tune of course. There are a few pipes that require some attention to their regulation or action, but its working. The console is functional and operating through Uniflex. The solo chamber is progressing and will be on wind in the next few months. A few of the volunteer crew are having a break for various personal reasons in the meantime.
07.01.2022 All set up ready for todays concert.
07.01.2022 A TV news story about the State Theatre, Sydney, Wurlitzer that has been recently fully restored by Jeff Weiler and Co. John Giacchi at the console. https://www.msn.com//sydney-state-theatre-rest/vp-AAK8h32

05.01.2022 Finally I get to hear the Wurlitzer that I discovered as a pre-teenager at the State Theatre when the Orchestra also performed at interval. Thanks to John Giacchi and State Theatre Management for doing the honours of letting the public know about this Iconic musical instrument.

Also included is a pic of the orchestral oboe chest and pipes in place. This is all in the solo chamber

02.01.2022 A selection of some of the dozens of LPs donated to TOSA NSW for sale on our record bar. These will be available for sale at future TOSA concerts. The LPs were generously donated by a family on the NSW north coast who were clearing out the family home when an aged parent moved into care. We thank them for the donation.
