17.01.2022 The American Guild of Organists is thrilled to announce the first online OrganFest, which will take place July 20-24. Each evenings broadcast will premiere a new work which had been commissioned for the 2020 National Convention in Atlanta, accompanied by interviews with the composers. Featured performers will be Jens Korndrfer, Amanda Mole, Alan Morrison, Thomas Ospital, and Catherine Rodland. Additional recorded performances by recent international organ competition winner...s will be presented, and short presentations will share exciting news and updates from the AGO. The daily YouTube premiere (8pm Eastern) and accompanying Festival website will be available at no charge. OrganFest 2020 promises to be an exciting way to showcase our beloved instrument and the great work of the AGO. Please share this information widely with your music-loving friends.

06.01.2022 Over the past weeks a lot has changed within our local community and around the world. Unfortunately, due to measures outside of our control the TOSAQ committee has had to cancel all activities for the coming months. These measures will certainly assist in keeping everyone within our community well. Further details are outlined below: Monday Play Nights - All Monday play nights have been cancelled from now until the middle of May - We have supported and respected the decision... of the Kelvin Grove State College to stop all external non-school activities. We will update you in early May regarding these events. Legends in Concert - The TOSAQ committee in conjunction with the artists made the decision a number of weeks ago to postpone this event until later in the year. As you know the Legends event is our most significant annual fundraising concert. Ensuring we have maximum attendance for this event is critical. Further details will be provided in the next Tibia newsletter. International Touring Artist (Justin Stahl) - Due to the travel restrictions at both an international and domestic level, along with the 14 day self-isolation requirements the tough decision was made to postponed Justins tour until 2021. Justin has agreed to a tour in 2021 and we are negotiating dates now. Club Day Events - Earlier in the week the TOSAQ committee was planning to hold low key Club Day events on the first Sunday of the month to replace the major concert cancellations. The new social distancing requirements has meant that we can no longer gather for large or small events. As soon as we can resume Club Day events, we will be sure to notify you. Christie Access - Until further notice, the Christie will not be accessible for practice, tuning or general maintenance. Membership - Even though there have been restrictions to our normal operations for the next few months, maintaining your membership is vital for the ongoing success of your society. Your annual membership ensures we can pay the annual insurance for the Christie organ along with our Public Liability responsibilities, annual Fair Trading registration and AMCOS Copyright fees to name a few. Thank you to the members who have already renewed for 2020. As this is our major annual fundraising event we want to ensure its enjoyed by as many people as possible to guarantee we raise plenty of money for the ongoing maintenance and enhancements to our wonderful Christie Cinema Pipe Organ. With so much uncertainty around COVID-19 (Coronavirus) at the moment we believe it best to postpone. The Legends in Concert event has been rescheduled to Sunday 1 November 2020.
