25.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Just a quick update...... With the new step 3 restrictions we are able to teach martial arts in some capacity outdoors. I am currently working on how to do this in the safest way possible. While I am waiting on clarification from our local MP, it looks likely that we can run a parents night off session again very soon, and also school holiday activity sessions like we would normally which is great news. We may also be able to reopen indoors for other activities b...y adapting to follow guidelines. I’m hoping to have more updates today. Thank you for your support..... I can’t wait to see you all! 25.01.2022 And that’s a wrap for another 6 weeks. Sad times, I hate the feeling of closing the door for a long period, it seems so surreal. Zoom catch ups will be running soon. Stay safe everyone and do the right thing so we can get through this quickly.

25.01.2022 We will be running classes in term 4! We will be using shades in the car park area until we are allowed to return inside following Covid rules. All students and recent enquiries will be contacted tomorrow with further details. It may be a little different, but different is an adventure! I’m really looking forward to teaching classes again!

24.01.2022 ****UPDATE**** Drysdale primary school have released an update that the school will re-open tomorrow after the DHHS did not confirm the case of COVID. We will re-open from tomorrow for our regular class schedule. Anyone who missed Monday class is welcome to do a make up session anytime during the term. We are taking every measure to ensure the safety of our students, these include temperature checks on entry, regular hand sanitising, all equipment disinfected between classes, all high touch areas disinfected between classes and full deep clean at the end of every night. If you are unwell, please stay home. Let’s do our part and keep our community as safe as possible.

Hi, my name is Tom and I’m the Muay Thai coach at Total Martial Arts Academy in Drysdale. ... I have had a passion for health and fitness my whole life including football, long distance running and general strength and conditioning until I discovered what would become my life passion in Muay Thai. I train with Johnny Bourke at Elite Training Center and Chris Bradford at Top Tier Muay Thai, who are now training together. I have had amateur padded fights and fought professionally. Muay Thai is a life changing sport in many aspects, from increasing your confidence and fitness to general respect of each other and of combat. I love having the opportunity to share and teach it to anyone who’s willing to listen and give it a try. Not only are our adult coaches stepping up with Covid safe training, but even our youngest assistant has completed the course. Until then though, we have designed a fitness challenge for the kids during the lockdown period! Here it is, the Epic fitness challenge! I’d love to see pics and videos of you all rising to the fitness challenge..... maybe you could do it in your best dress up, or pj’s, maybe you could work out to the best of your favourite song! 19.01.2022 ****** we are now booked out******* Hi parents, After a terrible end to the week with the weather cancelling classes, Saturdays forecast is looking good, so to make the most of being able to use our outdoor space, we are holding a parents night off movie night tomorrow (Saturday) in the big tent! 6-8pm, the kids will get a hotdog, bag of popcorn and a can of soft drink all for $20! This will go into our fundraising kitty for new equipment. Extra popcorn will be available at ...$1 a bag, also for fundraising. 18.01.2022 *******BIRTHDAY PARTIES***** We now offer birthday parties every Saturday and Sunday! We offer fully sanitised facilities for up to 18 people at the moment due to Covid restrictions. Numbers will vary as restrictions are eased. What you get- ... the whole venue to yourself for 2.5hours plus the use of either a jumping castle or projector for your own movie screening. Bring your own food and set up in our cafe area. A member of staff to assist with clearing, safety and cleaning. Optional Extras- The use of a second jumping castle, popcorn machine. The price- $250 for venue, jumping castle or disco dome or movie projector, a staff member. $50 extra for second jumping castle or popcorn machine.

08.01.2022 It Won't be long now!!! Hi Students & Parents. I hope you are doing well. How exciting is it that we in Victoria are getting on top of COVID-19! All the restrictions and shutdown will be worth it when we can safely go about life again.... We are excited to get back to classes as soon as possible. On return, Total Martial Arts will be doing everything we can to ensure that you and your child are safe at our club. We know that chances of infection are small, but we are going to do everything in our power to ensure it does not occur. Some of the safety & sanitation processes we will have in place are: Temperature testing of everyone, including staff, before coming into the club Hand sanitiser stations - compulsory hand sanitising before entry and before entering and after classes Social distancing whilst in the club. (we know you'll be excited to see your friends, but you'll have to hold off on the hugs and handshakes for a while!) Safe spacing in class between students Cleandown by staff after every class Restricted class numbers A break between classes, so one class can leave before the next comes in, reducing the number of people in the building "Hot Spots" such as bathrooms, door handles, taps etc wiped down and disinfected between every class Full disinfect / clean at the end of every night Thank you SO MUCH for your support through this time. We've loved that many students have engaged with the online classes, and been able to maintain their training. We CAN'T WAIT to see you back on the mats! 05.01.2022 What a great morning we had! Some of our students competed in the USBA/WBA online breaking tournament. We were broadcast live on the USBA site and had some awesome power breaks. The US competitors will be live during our night and then we will have the overall results! Great job guys!!!

03.01.2022 We have been closed due to Covid-19 for some time now but the end is near and we are able to offer classes and more again with restrictions easing. So while our doors have been closed we have made many changes to the academy and timetable. Including the new addition of birthday parties. (Please see other post regarding party options) Classes resume Monday June 22nd..... yes this is only one week before school holidays, so this week will be offered as a make up class to all of you that had to miss the last week of term 1. We will also have school holiday activity days running, before we begin term 3. I can’t wait to see you all, and show you in person the changes we’ve made!

02.01.2022 MEET THE TEAM........ This is Ash! He’s our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach. Here is a bit about him and his BJJ experience.... Ash has been Involved in martial arts for 16 years, and BJJ for 14 years. He’s a Black belt under Jean Jacques Machado / Stewie Maldon, from Stewie’s house of BJJ Bendigo.... Ash has developed BJJ classes, based around solid fundamentals - takedown’s and heavy ground control in a style that can easily transition between competition, self defence, fitness and fun. 02.01.2022 It is with a heavy heart I have to share some terrible news with our TMA family. Not just one but two very sad situations. Unfortunately, during lockdown one of our lovely mums Penny lost her battle with cancer, leaving behind her 3 beautiful boys and our students, Freddie, Toby and Hugo. Then last night I was very saddened to hear of the passing of another gym parent, Matt, who has left behind his son and another of our students, Nash. This news has rocked my world and my h...eart pours for these amazing kids in this hard time for them. I know our TMA family will get behind these great kids and help them out any way we can. 01.01.2022 Hi parents, Unfortunately due to the confirmed reported case of COVID-19 at Drysdale primary school, we will be closed tonight for children’s classes. This decision is as a precaution after the advice of the Covid-safe hotline, as contact tracing will take up to 72 hours. We need to do our bit to stop this in its tracks.
