08.01.2022 Hawaii's new sunscreen law is protecting the reef and marine environments! The law, which came into effect on Jan 1 this year, bans sale of sunscreens containin...g the coral-harming chemicals oxybenzone and octinoxate. It's important to be sun safe when we swim but we can also do our bit to keep our coral reefs safe by choosing reef friendly sunscreen (looking out to avoid nasty ingredients like methyl paraben, butyl paraben and phenoxyethanol!)
