From a climate perspective, with the amount of embodied energy stored inside, they should last A MINIMUM of 25 years. According to the European Environmental Bureau we use our smart phones for an average of 3 years. Extending this life span by just one extra year would be the equivalent of taking 200 million cars off the road...
