23.01.2022 W A I T - did you know... 75% of fashion supply chain material ends up in landfill? That’s the equivalent of one garbage truck of textiles per second. PER SECOND!! That is why I am an advocate of S L O W F A S H I O N . Slow fashion is the movement of designing, creating, and buying garments for quality and longevity. It encourages slower production schedules, fair wages, lower carbon footprints, and (ideally) zero waste. I hate to admit it, but I used to be part ...of the fast fashion problem. Over-spending on cheap imported clothes and accessories without consideration of where they came from or where they would end up. Which was normally thrift and op shops who are overwhelmed by clothes and textile donations. I’ve also signed up to Slow Fashion Season. I’ve joined thousands of others from around the globe who have vowed to make conscious clothing choices for the next 3 months 21st June to 21st September. All you need to do to join us is visit @slowfashionseason to support fair and safe working conditions, reduce waste and your carbon footprint. 11.01.2022 This is a cotton plant . My dad picked this cotton plant from his field and gave it to me on the weekend. Why? Because he is my dad and when you mention to him on the phone that people love cotton plants to use as chic, dried floral arrangements, he goes out into the paddock and spends an hour selecting and picking just the right ones. Packs them carefully into his car and drives 3 hours to meet us to pick up our girls for their school holidays and give me the cotton. Because he is my dad Love you guys (pretty sure he had help packing them into the car. Thanks mum ) Sar xoxo
