21.01.2022 TRY is today totally thrilled to learn we have been nominated as a finalist in the Premiers Sustainability Award. Something a mass of folk in Yack, and many others, can be proud of!!! @Mondo, Selectronic Australia, Solar Integrity, Into Our Hands Foundation, Yackandandah Folk Festival, Indigo Shire Council, YCDCo: YFuel, YFarm, Yackity Yak, Reclaim Energy, Indigo Power,... https://www.sustainabilityawards.vic.gov.au/20/Yackandandah

20.01.2022 We're pretty chuffed here as our own Matthew Charles-Jones has been nominated for Victorian Local Hero in the Australia Day Awards! You couldn't find a more passionate, gentle and dedicated advocate for Yackandandah and the merits of a renewable transition. And it's valuable recognition for TRY and Yackandandah, as behind every leader there is a team and an engaged community driving them on. Go Matt! 17.01.2022 Great to see communities jumping on to the resilience capabilities of renewable energy systems. A great story for the Upper Murray. https://www.abc.net.au//isolated-nursing-centre-/12730610

17.01.2022 Yacks little post office has been a site of impassioned interest over the past six months, as we all adjust to our localised lives... And so the building and the staff within, have grown extra affection across town, as people send and receive care packages, needed stuff and little treats. Suppose our town is not alone!I It is with great excitement then, that the local Post Master, Chris unveiled his latest project. 10kW of solar to help drive a cleaner type of mail service. Thanks for joining the increasingly solarised main street Chris - and the ongoing path to a low carbon emission future.

14.01.2022 Some interesting tangible results showing up for the mini-grid in Yack. Average annual savings of 63% by adding solar PV's. That is not a bad outcome!

13.01.2022 You really must be thinking about Christmas cards, and that being so... why not purchase some cards from Yack local, Mason. Mason is completing a Grade 4 study on entrepreneurial efforts and plans to donate all profits to TRY. Cards can even be mailed to you! Hooray, thanks Mason.... Check it out at: https://sites.google.com/ya/cards-for-a-cause-by-hugh/home

10.01.2022 Yackandandah's ambition to be the first town in Australia using totally renewable energy was given a jolt today.

05.01.2022 Sounds a good idea... https://reneweconomy.com.au/queensland-shift-to-100-per-c/

05.01.2022 As spring draws to a close we are all excited here at TRY, despite a challenging year. Our project looking at the feasibility of the 100% goal and how we get there is surging along we’ve identified how much power Yack uses at different times of the year and the pumped hydro and battery analyses are well underway. Which means we’re ready (and really excited) to tell you what we’ve found so far! Join us and spring into some regenerative conversations about renewables at a tow...n hall meeting or some drop-in sessions at Ardsville we’d love to see you, show what we’ve found and hear what you think! Yack Public Hall, Thurs 3 December at 7 pm, Ardsville (next to the library), 7th and 8th of December, 2:15 pm 6:00 pm For further details and to register go to: http://totallyrenewableyack.org.au/watts-happening/events/ Due to COVID restrictions, RSVP’s are required but it’s very casual. It’s a truly exhilarating stage of the project where possibilities and opportunities are emerging. Come and see what they are!

05.01.2022 All a bit excited in Yack today!!

02.01.2022 A big announcement shared by our friends and inspiration at Hepburn...

01.01.2022 TRY with Indigo Power, Reclaim Energy and Solar Integrity is super pleased to be offering our third annual hot water purchasing offer... There is no doubt that the Reclaim Heat Pumps are working a treat in the winter cold and the toasty hot of Dhuduroa country (the traditional name for the area of Yackandandah). If you live within 11km and are interested in resolving the terrible energy waste of electric storage hot water, then register your interest at the link below:
