10.01.2022 Right now, who is happy with their soft smooth skin??? The midst of winter is not a favourite time for any skin. Scaly, dry, flaky, itchy, rough, split, sore, bleeding - all are common words being used right now. So what can be done?... Have you heard "Oil is best?" Well, let me tell you a little known fact...... Oil is not necessarily best! Why?? Well luxurious, nourishing cold pressed vegetable oils are comprised of large fat-loving molecules. These are perfect for forming a barrier on the skin to prevent further water loss and damage. So what is the problem? You really want the nourishment to penetrate into the skin you are trying to save. But your oils are solely fat-soluble, and they will happily stay on top. However, if you use a cream or lotion containing a water medium, this will help readily release the nourishing oil loving molecules deeper into the skin structure as it 'seeps' through the lipid matrix. Oil is a luxurious addition to your beauty regime, and as added nourishment for the outer skin, but a rich, buttery emulsion (including all those lovely nourishing oils) will be the perfect treat for your winter scales. My natural, chemical-free moisturisers and butters (and oils) are a great option for all skin types.
