25.01.2022 In Melbourne for NDIS Auditor training.

24.01.2022 Client meetings in the north of Sydney today.

22.01.2022 We have branched out into assisting Sole Traders to become NDIS Verified Service Providers. If you wish to provide services to NDIS participants for tasks such as Lawn Mowing, Cleaning, Personal Training and Exercise Physiology Provider Comply can assist. To register with NDIS you need systems for Complaints Management, Incident Management, Risk Management, WHS (OHS) Management. We provide systems which meet NDIS requirements and allow you to pass NDIS Audits.

22.01.2022 Now is a great time to apply for an #asbestosremoval license as #SafeWorkNSW fees have been waived due to COVID19. We can provide the required safety systems and assist with certification of an #AS/NZS 45001:2018 #OHS #managementsystem. Just ask.

22.01.2022 Doing my favourite safety job today and all weekend. #Ironfest at Lithgow. Lots of great stalls setting up today including #FoxHollowTaxidermy they have a variety of skins including wolf, coyote and even Seal. I got up close and personal to an Arctic Fox and a Raccoon. So lifelike and soft. Romana is the amazing taxidermist. Come take a look the stall is amazing.

21.01.2022 Working in Mudgee today with a business in the retail food industry. Just handed over their Work Health and Safety Management System and trained the person responsible for implementing safety throughout the business in how to write a Safe Work Procedure. We chose use of the coffee machine which was very interesting. At lunch time I decided to go for a walk and enjoyed seeing everything nice and fresh after the rain.

20.01.2022 The frosty weather has meant getting out buckets of water to de-ice my vehicle during overnight stays visiting clients. If you are experiencing this with your work vehicles make sure you clear all windows and mirrors - impaired vision can quickly turn into a serious accident.

16.01.2022 I am fortunate to travel for work and visit beautiful locations. This week I am conducting health and safety representative training for Hyne Timber at Tumbarumba. This is the view off the back deck of my airbnb accommodation for the week. Idyllic beef farm - makes my country-girl heart sing.

15.01.2022 Tips for staying safe during hot, smoky conditions. Check out what NSW Health is advising about the current bushfire conditions and staying healthy. http://bit.ly/2pMMo21

15.01.2022 Great to relieve soreness from being deskbound during isolation.

15.01.2022 Safework NSW have a rebate system available for purchases relating to COVID19. Small Business Rebates COVID-19 assistance The Rebate Governance Oversight Committee has agreed (29 June 2020) to support small businesses who have introduced COVID-19 hygiene safety solutions into their businesses. In some cases, this includes support for retrospective purchases in some cases. The policy changes mean:... If a small business purchased eligible COVID-19 products (see here https://www.safework.nsw.gov.au//re/small-business-rebates) between 1 March and 30 June 2020 and have subsequently engaged with SafeWork NSW through an eligible event (e.g. advisory visit, workshop, webinar), they will be supported with a rebate. These businesses will have up to 30 September 2020 to submit their application. If a small business purchases eligible COVID-19 products after 30 June 2020, they must have an eligible engagement with SafeWork NSW before they purchase their COVID-19 safety solutions. They will then have 12 months from the date of their engagement to submit their application. These are eligible items: tems Temporarily eligible to support business hygiene measures during COVID-19. 13.01.2022 I have just started as a volunteer with Inspiring the Future Australia talking with youth and high school students about my role in Work Health and Safety. This is the group who shared their work with Youth Employment Services participants in Penrith yesterday.

11.01.2022 Thanks Peita Davies from Peita Davies - realestate.com.au Home Loans, Katherine Hawes from Digital Age Lawyers and Lawrence Atkinson from Trumans. It was lots of fun and a great way to get the safety message to the wider world.

09.01.2022 This plane is a bit smaller than the one I travelled on last week to Melbourne. Off to Wodonga, Victoria to conduct Health and Safety Representative Training for #RonFinemoreTransport

08.01.2022 This is relevant to all business. I recommend having a chat with Justin Herald who is a very successful business man and understands the trials and tribulations of those roadblocks which crop up as part of being in business.

06.01.2022 Some timely advice for those who have trees damaged due to fire or just wanting to get trees trimmed or removed. SafeWork NSW advice to ensure you have a genuine expert to do the work - in a safe way. http://bit.ly/2FnuVl1 -

06.01.2022 Codes of Practice

03.01.2022 Sunday mornings are my time for a long walk in the surrounding bush. During this time I listen to podcasts of all genre's. At midpoint, on top of a mountain I stop and reflect on what is going on in my life both personally and in business. Just being out in nature on my own without interruption is so powerful to keep me in a positive mindset. I recommend even a short walk in the outdoors to everyone. Just try it and feel the benefits.

03.01.2022 Last week was interesting meeting with SafeWork NSW Inspectors after assisting two businesses to comply with requirements of Improvement Notices. One for a forklift accident where an employee was hospitalised for serious internal injuries and another business where an employee failed to follow lock-out procedure before using a machine and de-gloved his thumb. Each instance was due to human error with both injured parties having learnt the hard way that a split second decision... can have serious consequences. Both businesses avoided fines and now have systems in place to prevent similar incidents occuring in the future.

03.01.2022 I have just finished assisting a client avoid 3 fines from SafeWork NSW for potentially serious issues. It was an interesting exercise which highlighted the need for all businesses regardless of size to: Induct ALL workers Monitor work practices Ensure ALL staff are up to scratch with Company safety procedure and Ensure you are using industry standard safety practices to keep your workers safe.

03.01.2022 Did you know that I do SafeWork NSW approved Health and Safety Representative Training? Off to Tumbarumba Sunday to conduct this training for Hyne Timber who have invited me back to train the 5 day HSR and also HSR refresher training. It was a bit warmer last time I was down that way, it was in November - definately taking my winter woolies this time around.

02.01.2022 Blacksmiths just don't look like we expect! #Krampus at #Ironfest sitting on the chair he made.

01.01.2022 Last week myself and 25 other volunteers shared insights into the work we do with Year 10 Students at Bede Polding College in Windsor as part of #InspiringTheFuture. The students were very interested to learn about some of the unusual items I have discovered during site inspections. High on the agenda were also questions relating to the number of hours I work each week and how I began my career in work health and safety.... It was great to share my career journey and provide some tips about being safe at work at the same time.
