21.01.2022 As we move into the school holiday period, now is a good time to check the expiry date on your/your child's EpiPen. We also encourage Child Care Centres and S...chools to check the expiry on their General use EpiPen/s. They might appreciate a gentle reminder to do this. If the EpiPen/s are due to expire, make sure to arrange an appointment with your GP to renew your prescription and purchase new ones. It is important that this is done before the expiry date of your current device. For more information visit: http://ow.ly/pXeK50BwbvG

20.01.2022 Do you have a young infant about to start solids? Starting solids is an exciting milestone in your infants life and often prompts a lot of questions. What sol...ids should you offer? Do you have concerns about allergies? Once you have started your baby on egg or peanut how often should you include them in your babies diet? The updated resources from Nip allergies in the Bub will answer these question and also provide you with age appropriate recipes you can print off. Visit the website: http://ow.ly/zEBE50AutEF

20.01.2022 Dangerous sleep products like the Dock-A-Tot kill infants and children!!! Im working on an article about this for my website PediMom.com but I just could not ...wait to bring this to your attention so Im posting now. This product is a favorite of non-medical mommy blogs and so reaches tons of new parents. They also market heavily to mommy blogs and other influencers to market for them. Unfortunately Ive even seen several non-pediatric physician influencers doing some marketing for this dangerous product. FYI, I speak out EVERY TIME I see this and contact that physician personally to educate them. This adorable, ridiculously expensive, product is a DEATH TRAP! Yes, I said that! It is a death trap and it risks the lives of infants by suffocation. I have coded and lost infants due to this contraption. We advocate for no bumpers, right? This is like several big fluffy bumpers placed even closer to your childs face which increases their risk of suffocation and death. Death. And please dont @ me with I only let my baby lounge in it, not sleep in it. Infants fall asleep in the blink of an eye and NO PARENT can have their eyeballs on their child 100% of the time. Its impossible and if youre honest youll admit that. The risk of death should be enough to deter you from using this dangerous product (and other products like it). Reminder: ALL parents with infants should be practicing safe sleep which means following the ABCs. A- ALONE. No pillows, blankets, toys, bumpers, or humans. Tight fitted sheet and a pacifier are the ONLY things that should be with your baby when sleeping. No bed-sharing. B- BACK. Place all babies on their back to sleep. C- CRIB. Babies should be in a crib or another approved (bassinet or play yard) FLAT sleep surface every time, even for naps. ***Please see comments for a link from the Consumer Reports, and some other sources, regarding the dangers of this product and and its links to the deaths of infants. #StartTheConversation #ItTakesAVillage #PediMom ***Same old DISCLAIMER: I will not tolerate any misinformation on my page and those commenting with such will be deleted and banned without warning (including fake questions/comments meant to disguise the true agenda - I see through this). Im happy to post additional links for further information but I WILL NOT engage with science deniers, especially on this topic. #SorryNotSorry *photo compliments of yet another mommy blog that is peddling this dangerous product.

17.01.2022 Great article on Mamamia about introducing common allergy causing foods to babies during COVID-19. Dr Preethi Joshi from A&AAs Medical Advisory Board answers... some questions parents often have when wanting to introduce the common allergy causing foods in the first twelve months of bubs life. Mum of one Rikki Dunstall explains how she has been following the guides on the Nip Allergies in the Bub website when introducing the common allergens to her gorgeous bub Toby. Remember to keep common allergy causing foods in the babys diet at least a twice a week once they are introduced.

11.01.2022 Did you know that if you put a campfire out by covering it in sand or dirt, it will still be hot enough 8 hours later to cause serious burns? Tragically, a Pert...h family discovered this first hand when their 2 year old daughter Matilda stepped on a hidden fire during a walk on the beach, sustaining serious burns to her arms and feet. If you are camping these school holidays, make sure you always put your campfire out with water. Its also a good idea to leave the stones surrounding the fire in place so other campers can see where it has been. For more info on how to safely put out a campfire, please visit https://bushwalkingvictoria.org.au/camp-fires-185 To read more about Matildas story, please visit https://7news.com.au//wa-fathers-plea-after-discovery-leav
