24.01.2022 INSURANCE FOR THE NEXT STAGE OF TRAVEL. Emirates customers can now plan their travels and fly with even greater assurance and peace of mind, with the airline’s latest industry-first initiative to provide expanded, multi-risk travel cover on top of its current COVID-19 cover. Provided by Emirates at no additional cost to its customers, and provided by AIG Travel, this cover is the first of its kind in the airline and travel insurance industry. It is designed to provide all Em...irates passengers a truly unique offer for stress-free and hassle-free travel. This new multi-risk travel insurance and COVID-19 cover will automatically apply to all Emirates tickets purchased from 1 December, and extends to Emirates codeshare flights operated by partner airlines, as long as the ticket number starts with 176. Emirates Airlines has also implemented a comprehensive set of measures at every step of the customer journey to ensure the safety of its customers and employees on the ground and in the air, including the distribution of complimentary hygiene kits containing masks, gloves, hand sanitiser and antibacterial wipes to all customers. for more information please contact our office on (03) 94825215 or email us at [email protected]

23.01.2022 Around 20 airlines are trialling an IATA app which allows passengers to securely store and share the Covid-19 vaccine and test records they need to travel internationally. IATA is the International Air Transport Association which regulates and supports safety standards worldwide for air travel. The industry body announced its digital health passport in November and believes it will be a vital tool in convincing governments to unlock their borders and allowing people to trave...l easily once again. IATA is working at full capacity to roll out the Travel Pass and talking to 30 to 40 other airlines about adopting its digital platform for passengers, says head of passenger and security products, Alan Hayden This product is not given directly to consumers, but to airlines encouraging them to incorporate the technology into their own customer apps. It will contain information on what tests, vaccines and other measures passengers require before travel to various destinations. It is also a means of recording passengers’ health statuses, and it’s also a consistent and simple way of conveying that info to airline and immigration officials.

11.01.2022 "Qantas will permanently close its service and sales desks at all airports and lounges, leaving passengers to deal with cancellations and last-minute booking changes themselves at self-service kiosks, online or through a call centre." The Australian Services Union spokesperson said that chaos will ensue during severe weather, cancellation of flights, changes to flights, and the situation will be particularly hard for elderly or disabled passengers.

10.01.2022 Important news for travellers. There are whispers that we may see borders opening at some point in December, although it is not clear whether this will be only domestic or worldwide and what the new travel protocols will be. We will keep everyone informed as things unfold. We would also like to remind everyone that refunds are still being processed, and some airlines are taking longer than others. Under these once-in-a-lifetime crisis situations, where 60% of the airline workforce have been made redundant, it means that a small few are processing literally millions of refunds going back to 2019. Therefore, some refunds are taking anywhere between 7-9 months. We ask for people’s patience once more.
