24.01.2022 The Tour de Cure is a gruelling annual ride through some of Australia’s most spectacular and rugged countryside to raise money for cancer research. Channel 7’s ...cameras have been rolling on the ride for the past 10 years capturing the unique scenery and drama. And from that vast library, Sunrise’s Mark Beretta has pulled together the best stories, the most beautiful sections, and captured all the pain and jubiliation of this incredible fundraising feat. THE CYCLE - The Tour de Cure Story goes back to how three friends had the idea of jumping on their bikes to ride from Brisbane to Sydney to help those battling cancer. 14 years, and tens of thousands of kilometres later, the Tour de Cure has raised over $60-million, funded over 502 research, support and prevention projects, that have led to 29 major international breakthroughs in cancer treatment. From Adelaide right around the Australian east coast to Cape Tribulation, inland over the Snowy Mountains, and across Tasmania, in rail, hail and shine, you will see a unique view of this beautiful country. The stories of riders and their families are emotional. The Tour finishes are exhilarating. This is a beautifully uplifting story at a time when the nation really needs it. Broadcast times: Saturday 29th August - 1.00pm ADELAIDE Sunday 6th September - 1.00pm SYD, MELB, BRIS and other markets

12.01.2022 Here is a little doco on Tour de Cure. It highlights some of the reasons why I've been involved, and also the amazing work they do.

02.01.2022 Helloooo ! I know it’s been a while since my last post, but these ISO-days feel like they morph into each other and even though the days feel long, the weeks seem to go by quick. Or is it just me?? Anyway, I have continued with my monthly challenge in completing a 100km ride every month. This month I found it particularly difficult only because the weather is getting colder and also that I am not riding as much (yes, I am yet to receive my replacement indoor trainer). Thank... you to all those people who have ordered (and re-ordered) wine from Penny's Hill Winery. I must say I do like Cracking Back Shiraz and also The Specialized Shiraz, Cab, Merlot. Tonight I will be giving The Experiment Grenache a good test (and pairing it with a lamb roast!). Lastly, with everyone chipping in and the promise of me dollar matching, we have hit target (and exceeded). I am absolutely blown by everyone’s generosity. Thank you so much for coming along the journey with me. It rings true that when people with passion come together, we can achieve so much more. But let’s not stop there. So CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. For the last week of the financial year, I will ride a km for every dollar donated. Yep, that’s the challenge. Simple enough. And all donations over $2 are tax deductable. Here is what your donation can do; $50 - can fund enrolment in a clinical cancer trial $100 - can fund 2 nights' accommodation for a cancer patient $200 - can provide a chemo wig to restore a cancer patient's confidence $500 - can enable a kid fighting cancer to attend specialist holiday camp with their family $1,000 - can fund genetic sequencing of a cancer patient's tumour See more
