25.01.2022 Are you inclined to write submissions and interested in contributing to a paper ? TC & SD is looking at indigenous community engagement in water security and would like to hear from any practitioners from Papua New Guinea and also from Kenya, Sudan, South Sudan or from any of the five non sub Saharan countries. Deadline for expressions of interest is by the 15th October 2019.

25.01.2022 Work done specifically on coronaviruses by Tracey Goldstein of University of California, Davis. In 2017 she and her colleagues published a piece of research in which they had tested for coronaviruses in bats, rodents and primates (including people) in 20 countries in Africa, South America and Asia. Individual bat species normally had between one and five types of coronavirus. (For comparison, human beings have seven, including the newly emerged sars-cov-2.) Scale that up for ...the 1,400 different species of the animals and it means there are potentially more than 3,000 coronaviruses circulating in bats. This certainly increases the odds that bats will be responsible for generating a coronavirus dangerous to people. But only because there are lots of them. If these scientific findings are correct, then is a bat responsible for the new wave of geopolitical instability that will emerge post Covid-19 and what new conflicts will emerge between the PRC & USA in the world.

25.01.2022 Conflict tourism and climate and the challenges for indigenous communities.

24.01.2022 One term or two doesnt matter because itll take decades to repair US foreign policy debacle. Soft diplomacy has the potential to mitigate conflict rather than hard power.

23.01.2022 The permanent UN Security Council members America, China, France, Russia and the United Kingdom plus Germany have to now consider future challenges...one such challenge Is the Iran sanctions and the China/Russian/Iran dynamic.

23.01.2022 There's more than one side to trauma.

22.01.2022 Look at me because l can not look at you. Notice the lack of a smile and each and every mile walked by these women, is one with a heavy heart.

22.01.2022 In this month of Ramadan what do our Muslim brothers & sisters do ?

22.01.2022 There are examples of women mitigating conflict by using modern communication platforms, some as simple as broadcasting a message via a local radio station. Can women really reduce or prevent conflict and if so then it's paramount to empower them.

22.01.2022 Climate and our modern world.

21.01.2022 One question to consider is what Wagner Group conflict will be next ? Did the USA orchestrate a covert maneuver by removing the leader of Lybia and then allowing other actors such as Turkey & Russia to take part in another controlled conflict. After all Amwrica sacrificed an ambassador in Benghazi and was that a failed rescue or a deceptive play on the chess board.

19.01.2022 Time and again, we all turn to one entity in times of crisis, regardless of where we stand ideologically: the state. Governments are expected to do their job and Europeans at the very least seem to take it for granted that the Leviathan --so often and so intensively criticised-- will step in and ward off disaster. The pandemic will lead to permanent shifts in political and economic power in ways that will become apparent only later.

19.01.2022 The indigenous perspective.

19.01.2022 Without tthe three major reform platforms being implemented after mediation there will be no peace in the Middle East and proxy wars will continue.

18.01.2022 The new Cold War is the sunset in the West and the sunrise in the East. There is a need to change the UNSC to enable it to be an effective governing body in the rapidly changing global world order. The PRC has stood up and the Asian Century is here.

18.01.2022 Thanks to Anne Speckhard for keeping us posted of developments regarding armed conflict. Would the average tourist travel to a war zone ?

18.01.2022 Food security will be an issue as much as water security... Insecurity can produce fear and fear can produce conflict and conflict can produce war.

18.01.2022 Aircraft from Carrier Air Wings (CVW) 5 and 17 fly in formation over the Nimitz Carrier Strike Force on July 6, 2020, in the South China Sea. The aircraft carriers USS Nimitz (CVN 68), right, and USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) and their carrier strike groups are conducting dual carrier operations in the Indo-Pacific as the Nimitz Carrier Strike Force. 15.01.2022 Do migrants ever return back to their departure points with new skills ?

15.01.2022 Can tourism be used to gauge the appeal of a country ? Is it true that to deflect attention from his failure to prepare for the pandemic and his failure to manage it, President Trump and the people around him are steering the nation toward a third epic blunder: an ill-advised and poorly-thought-out conflict with China. Where will tourism find affordable safety post Covid-19 ?

14.01.2022 Tourism relies on people to travel and visit and a virus stops tourists the same way that armed conflict does...dead.

14.01.2022 Stable peace is one step away from conflict. How does your community mitigate conflict between agriculture and other competitors, such as man, insect of beast ? COFAPRI is a good example of working with victims of conflict.

14.01.2022 Will clmate change have the AU think outside of the box using technology such as computer modelling to mitigate sub suhara agricultural activities. Water security issues spread out across Africa and further than the Blue & White Nile rivers.

14.01.2022 Migration for various reasons and do migrants ever return home with new skills ?

13.01.2022 *After stalling in the Pacific over the past week, the MaddenJulian Oscillation (MJO) is currently over tropical America. It is forecast to move eastwards towards Africa during the coming fortnight. At this time of the year, the MJO influence is shifting to the northern hemisphere, and therefore begins to have less influence on northern Australia. When the MJO is active over the African region, convection is typically suppressed over far northern Australia, as well as the tropical regions to the north of Australia. *BOM Australia 27th April 2021 Climate and conflict and what if any correlation ?

12.01.2022 Inter vs intra state conflict. interstate adjective existing or carried on between states.... "interstate travel" Intrastate adjective existing or occurring within the boundaries of a state, especially of the United States: intrastate commerce. https://www.dictionary.com/e/inter-vs-intra/

12.01.2022 Where are the tourists?

10.01.2022 We can no longer rely on old assumptions as the world just had a paradigm shift and certain aspects of our lives will never be the same again. There will be new geopolitical conflict once the problem of this pathogen has passed. According to researchers, based on recent findings there is the real possibility that the increase in domestic violence will lead to attempts at mass civil disobedience, demonstrations and a backlash against governments. Conflict is inherit in humans and this pandemic will provide us with new opportunities to observe new conflicts once the health issues have been removed.

10.01.2022 In North Kivu where the extractive industry exists so too does conflict & violence.

09.01.2022 Mitigating conflict through education and micro economic initiatives. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s13592-017-0515-5

08.01.2022 Putins United Russia Party retained its political dominance following recent local and regional elections. Western media incorrectly framed the outcome of the vote as a victory for the opposition and a blow to the Kremlin. United Russia won the vast majority of races and lost seats in only two electoral districts. The opposition parties that gained seats at the expense of United Russia are predominantly members of the systemic opposition co-opted by the Kremlin. The West should recognize that treating these elections as a true expression of the popular will in Russia simply reinforces a false narrative designed to mask Vladimir Putins dictatorship. 07.01.2022 We know that water security in human history has contributed to human conflict. How does climate change cause conflict and how can we mitigate any future potential human conflict.

07.01.2022 V is for volatility and in an uncertain world how does one mitigate any impediments that may derail education or medical initiatives. How does a practitioner in NGO related tourism initiatives identify possible derailing influences ? Conflict analysis and then effective management of the conflict starting with transformative mediation to just create open dialogue between the individuals and or groups. Build trust through transparency and with truth in a united group that is called teamwork.

06.01.2022 Conflict in the DRC in North Kivu does nothing to promote tourism.

06.01.2022 The young-maasai-community-development-initiative is looking at ways to mitigate conflict in Kenya. Toursim is vital fo the people of Narok County and without water security the big five will leave and the tourist dollar will follow the animals to Tanzania and Uganda.

05.01.2022 Liberalism in the Asian Century and what is left may not be right, but its all weve got.

04.01.2022 Tourism can be a barometer in the assessment of a country. If theres a contagion or a pathogen or of theres armed conflict what are the total visitor numbers ?

04.01.2022 If one used a budgie down a coal mine in the 19th Century to ascertain the health and safety of a miner, then is tourism our new budgie in the 21st Century to gauge global levels of conflict and the health and safety of tourists.

03.01.2022 Kenya in MMXX and the challenges ahead.

01.01.2022 Unbelievable that we can be part of a world like this...live it live it life
