24.01.2022 A challenging year is nearly over. For many of our clients it was testing at both a personal and business level; for others they emerged thriving. Please see our latest newsletter and we wish all a better 2021. https://lnkd.in/gYnZJJV
24.01.2022 Tourism Whitsundays and Mackay Tourism are set to deliver the Mackay Whitsundays Resilient Leadership and Mentoring Program. This is made possible through a successful grant application under the Commonwealth/State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, through the Community Development program. This exciting initiative begins in November 2020, and aims to make communities more resilient in the face of adverse events and disasters and develop great leaders across the tourism and business sectors. The program, delivered by the Institute for Tourism Leadership Australia brings contemporary, evidence-based and leading-edge resilience training which is currently being conducted in other regions across Australia. Full details and dates for the program are available here
24.01.2022 Thanks to all participants for a very full on, energetic workshop on the theme "Resilient Leader" in The Tweed Resilient Leadership program yesterday. In a day we have analysed the region's community resilience on 4 key factors, kicked off the Personal Resilience Self Coaching 8 Modules and looked at neuroscience and enhancing our emotional intelligence. An amazing array of talent with respectful, empathetic interaction throughout - great signs as we build over the next 2 workshops to creating Regional Resilience Mentors. Thanks to Twin Towns Conference & Function Centre for safely and expertly hosting the event around the Covid-19 restrictions. #itla #leadership #resilience #thetweed

22.01.2022 Pleased to be part of Thirdi Management's podcast with Marcus Curcija discussing how in order to achieve the sustainable outcomes that we desire as a society, as an organisation, or even personally, we need to be able to recover to bounce back from issues and challenges in a productive, meaningful way so that those around us are inspired to focus on positive impact solutions. https://lnkd.in/gkJ365S
20.01.2022 We have embraced the idea that successful recovery recognises, supports and builds on individual, community and organisational capacity and resilience. To build social capital over a long period of time rather than part of quick fixes, we designed a tool which measures four critical elements of community resilience. Our consulting solution has been to augment our Resilience Leadership framework with two enhancements: (1) Creating Regional Resilience Mentors; and (2) encoura...ging diverse, multi-sector leadership cadres. Enjoy the short article.

18.01.2022 The celebration to mark the Bundaberg Tourism Resilient Leadership alumni was a study in good social distancing! However, the conversation at times was profound with the warmth, connection and new peer network palpably evident. We may not be able to avoid physical distancing in the workplace in the mid-term but can balance this by attending to the elevated need for emotional connection. Well done to all! #itla #leadership #visitbundaberg

14.01.2022 Facilitating so much online and having intense conversations on resilience, we are observing a few things. It's timely to reflect on the "Cookie and Radishes" experiment (Roy Baumeister , 1998) - constantly monitoring our behaviour, our hand washing, being on the screen for endless videoconferences, etc. has us a little flustered and tired because monitoring our behaviour exhausts us. This article is a great lead on how to counter this : 1. Adopt or keep your Growth Mindset... as a Fixed Mindset sees us proving ourselves - showing that we have what it takes and maintaining the status quo, means resistance to change. 2. Rigorously commit to eliminating priorities that aren’t actually priorities.....distil information and team focus to what’s essential rather than what’s exhaustive. 3. Choose your focus - it doesn't have to be only problems, details, and drama - so get back to vision and team goals. https://lnkd.in/gp5NZP9

We focused on neuroscience and Emotional Intelligence; looking forward to the first coaching sessions now underway.
08.01.2022 Looking forward to participating in this event! We have spent much time over the last 12 months working and researching this space.
07.01.2022 An excellent, short article on a pervasive tendency applicable to all of us. Of interest for greater understanding, is that across the last 3 years when asking about participant needs on our leadership programs, increasingly many have expressed the same motivational growth needs to: build self-confidence and self-esteem; and overcome Imposter Syndrome. https://hubs.li/H0B-lmB0

05.01.2022 We delivered the final workshop in The Tweed Resilient Leadership and Mentoring program this week on becoming a mentor. To all the participants that completed the course, well done. The workshop was underpinned by use of the GROW model to mentor others and provide structure to what can too often be "stream of consciousness" conversations. Thanks to Kym Kranen, Tweed Shire Council, Brad Nardi and Sally Scott from The Tweed Tourism Co. and all our business and community participants who love their region and give back. Tim Jack Adams, GreenX7 thanks for your cameo, people are still talking about it!

02.01.2022 Thanks to our Visit Gladstone Region, Queensland cadre of Resilience Leadership participants for a great workshop last week. It's hard to believe but after 3 months of online learning, we met for the first time face to face. Longest (and best) introductions we have had! Elbow touches to die for. Much energy, pent up interaction and some amazing presentations around our Tourism Resilience Plan 2030. Hope to see you up there for a networking event soon!
02.01.2022 We had the pleasure of facilitating Theme 2 "Resilient Teams" for the Tweed Resilient Leadership and Mentoring cadre this week. A fabulous, energetic morning with Tim Jack Adams, CEO GreenX7 on wellbeing and keeping our batteries charged to thrive. Would have loved to be there but we are on the wrong side of the border and so made the most of a group Zoom for our afternoon session. #itla #leadership #thetweed
01.01.2022 A big thank you to G.A.P.D.L for hosting the Gladstone Resilient Leadership Program networking event! We thoroughly enjoyed delivering this program in partnership with GAPDL, and it was fantastic to catch up with program alumni and meet other stakeholders. #leadership #itla #gladstoneregion
