18.01.2022 USG Racing - Fleurieu Milk ===================== Matt Sparnon Jason Tattersall... Aron Huysmans Beau Heath We dont get many World Champions turn up at our races. That was until Matt Sparnon decided to get back on the bike. Over the past year or so Matt has been training and racing and seemingly getting faster all the time. He is currently the undisputed Australian age group champion holding titles across both AVCC and Cycling Australia and has been ripping the legs of the local racers on a weekly basis. And dont get me started on what he is doing to Strava. He is ruining it for all of us! USG have a great team here with wily strong man Jason Tattersall, newly minted Masters rider Beau Heath and Flemish cobble crushing former pro Aron Huysmans. No surprises when I say these boys are going to be tough to beat in DIV 1.

17.01.2022 PowerOn WGA =========== Damien Byrne Mark Rudloff... Bill Robinson Richard Staunton PowerOn have been at Tour Of Goolwa every year since it became a teams competition. We think they are great. They turn up, race hard and have fun. Booyeah! But dont be fooled by the care-free front they present, the dark web has revealed the PowerOn boys perfoming less work on the guns and more work on the pins, conducting early morning Team Time Trial practice sessions and slamming out hill climb interval repeats. Hills! PowerOn choosing hills! Youve changed man... Byrner, Rudders, Richie and Scuba (even the nick-names are designed to make you drop your guard) are intent on refining and perfecting a well oiled machine. These boys arent here to just make up the numbers, they are here to race hard and do well. And probably have fun doing it. Maybe nothing has changed.

16.01.2022 INTRODUCING THE TEAMS The team nominations are still coming in and the field is starting to look pretty awesome. Over the next few days look out as we give you the heads-up on a few of the teams... For now lets start at the top and introduce one of the first teams to throw their hat in to the ring this year. Its a pretty formidable line-up with both experience and some new blood and team name that is so long that they have to budget on the rider names. DIV 1 Lookout its........................... 99Bikes Marion Raine&Horne Kurralta Park by Tactic JP Jacobs JP Childs JP Lang Michael Kepka 99BMR&HKPT is a new team this year and will be right near the pointy end of DIV1. These boykies aint no moffies and they are ready to klap the opposition. Remember if you havent done so, get your team noms in and if you are looking for a team let us know its not too late.

13.01.2022 Here it is folks The Divisions - all 6 of them https://www.tourofgoolwa.org.au/teams-list
12.01.2022 Introducing: USG Racing - Coffylosophy Roger Welch Andrew Welch Wayne Edwards... Todd Whitehill Sibling rivalry is a powerful force. USG have distilled it and are ready to unleash this force on those outside the familia. Will we see the bar raised ala Steve/Mark Waugh and Frank/Andy Schleck. Or will it be more of a Cain/Abel, Liam/Noel Gallagher situation? Beyond the deep seated psychological forces driving Roger and Andrew, Welchy, Welchy, Wazza and Whitehill are out to prove that alliteration and team work can bring rewards. They are a team that values the contribution of each team member and are quick to inspire confidence in each other. Apparently, each of them has already been claiming that every other team member is in fact the designated climber within the team and praising their gifting in the field. Time will tell who is the true mountain goat, either way family dinner conversations will be lively for months to come.
11.01.2022 ADX Depot Team King =================== Graham King Keith Felix... Nicholas Chabrel Mathew Miller Tour Of Goolwa major sponsor ADX Depot always turn up with a number of strong teams. We really, really, really appreciate the support they provide for The Tour Of Goolwa and this team here looks like it will dominate DIV 4. Nah just joking..... But whatever division this team ends up in, one thing is for sure, they will lay down a smokin time trial. Kingy and Chabrel are powerhouses in a skinsuit whilst Keith aint too shabby either and can whip out a handy sprint. Mat Miller is probably the definition of a naturally gifted sprinter and will be sure to be eyeing off stage 2. Whats the plan for Day 2? Who knows, but having completed the entire stage 3 (yeah the one with Flagstaff Hill!) in the big ring one year Keith may be the man to watch if he can find the inner ring.
11.01.2022 Heres the program More detail for each event will follow shortly :)
08.01.2022 Order 66 ========= With a team name inspired following an evening of repeated listens to Stairway To Heaven backwards, these four Knights In Sycling Service are ready to sweep across the landscape like a plague of locusts.... They have been training hard, eating well and resting intensely. Theyre tall, theyre young, theyre good looking and theyre smart. All of those traits are represented at least once within the team, and like something from a Faustian pact Dawesy has doubled up on a couple, but it is more than can be said for many teams. People of earth bow to your new overlords: Matt Lawson Ivan Clark Josh Goodwin Simon Dawe FOOTNOTE: The author has no idea what the actual relevance of the team name is. In fact they actually all seem to be very nice young men.
08.01.2022 Southern Vales ============ If experience counts for anything then this team have the race sewn up.... Look at this roster: Peter Grivell Paul Caldwell Eddie Collins Patrick OKane Peter Grivell is a masters racing and Tour Of Goolwa stalwart. As reliable as the wind springing up on Stage 2 at Finniss, Peter turns up ready to race. The picture above is from the 1954 TOG edition where Peter raced as a neo-vet. Supported by Paul Caldwell(the big engine that can), Eddie Collins and Patrick OKane this looks to be a well-balanced team that will contest all the way to the end of stage 4.
08.01.2022 BlackChrome Racing 1 ==================== Matt Franks Mike Hoile... Greg Jackson Todd Storm Hoiley. Is it an adjective? Is it a verb? It is certainly a noun. You are busily racing and someone comes grinding past and then disappears up the road. They are pulling a Hoiley. Next time you see them will be at the finish line. If you dont see them at the finish line because they took a wrong turn then that is "just so Hoiley". Or maybe you are racing a handicap and the situation is hopeless and one guy is smashing the front dragging everyone around. All race the situation is hopeless, but the Hoiley never gives up and you never get near the front. If you possess appropriate "Hoiliness" then you will have had just the best day ever. Anyway, Hoiley is tops. This year he is racing the Tour Of Goolwa with 3 other guys. Meh, theyre OK I guess. Lets talk more about Hoiley... Im not sure Hoiley needs a team to win Tour Of Goolwa. If anyone could manage to win a teams event on their own it would be Hoiley. However, he has 3 worthy companions this year. Sprint unit and TT machine the King of Flex Matt Franks is back again. Greg Action Jackson has emerged from super secret training and will be giving his all. Then we have yet another Young Master, the man with perhaps the coolest name in this years Tour Of Goolwa, climbing sensation, Todd Storm. If this team dont do well it wont be because they havent tried. Hoiliness can be contagious.
08.01.2022 BlackChrome Racing One ====================== Luke Dingley Travis Eddie... Greg Chivers Alison Skinner Back in Blackchrome Baby! Last years DIV 3 winners return to the 2020 ADX Depot Tour Of Goolwa. Veitch is out and Eddie is in. This team spearheaded by the enigmatic Ginger Ninja Dinga combines climbing prowess (Skinner), sprint ability (Eddie) and pure grunt (The Chivinator) they should be in the contest across all four stages. Unfortunately, Luke was unavailable for the official TOG photo shoot, we have instead provided a near perfect representation.
