12.01.2022 Have you met Willie the outback horse, yet? If you thought the story about the ex-pacer who adopted a "living ghost town" in our Goldfields was just a good pu...b "yarn", we're here to tell you it's all true. If you don't believe us you can watch this video: https://youtu.be/DxuvbBdZ_Eo In its gold rush heyday, Kookynie had a population of around 1,500 people and six hotels which has dwindled down to just thirteen permanent residents. But that doesn’t include this much-loved horse who’s made a habit of frequenting the local pub each and every afternoon. Willie showed up at the Hotel a couple of years ago and just keeps coming back. He's now considered a local and the whole town takes care of him, although he's still free to roam around like he owns the place! Fair to say, Willie is no ordinary horse, and the Grand Hotel Kookynie is no ordinary pub! Be sure to call in for a cold beer or a hearty meal and say g'day to this fella when you visit the Goldfield's region! www.australiasgoldenoutback.com/Listing/Grand_Hotel_Kookynie instagram.com/andy.tyndall.photos Kookynie, Golden Quest Discovery Trail, Australia's Golden Outback, Western Australia, Australia.com . . . #justanotherdayinwa #thisiswa #seeAustralia

12.01.2022 Yesterday I made a post about some silver crystals I purchased. I also have my eye on some gold crystals but the extra zero on the price tags makes them a litt...le our of my price range. Gold crystals are extremely rare and seldom offered for sale, this recent find from Brazil has produced some amazing pieces that are now on sale in Tucson. Crystal Gold can fetch at least 10x the normal price of gold and an exceptional piece 40 or more x gold value. These pieces are a bargain even at the crazy prices they are on offer at.

09.01.2022 Spots still available for 2019 season. We will be starting at Easter this year. Looking forward to seeing some colour and the smiling faces of our guests. Roll on 2019, let’s break another record.

07.01.2022 We have a new 400 acre lease for our 2018 tours that has proven to produce some decent nuggets up to 15 ounces. This is on the green belt with many recent and old workings on all neighboring leases. Places available for next season so don’t miss out, get in before the crowds come.

03.01.2022 Come and learn how and where to find gold. We operate from our camp 43km north of Kalgoorlie and have our own leases. You can either do a day tour, tag a long or a fully catered tour from 1-7 days including all meals depending on package you prefer. We supply all the gear including the latest detectors too. This is a hands on experience so you can learn how to do it properly and understand the machines and sounds. All welcome and yes we have hot showers too. All packages listed here https://tours88.com.au/tour-packages/ or call me MARTY on 0455 112231

03.01.2022 This is what makes my job so pleasurable.

01.01.2022 Speaking of ghost towns in it's hey day, during the gold rush of the late 1800's, Cue was a bustling regional town with a population of around 10,000. ...Known as the "Queen of the Murchison", it's still home to 300 people, but it's the old buildings that tell the story of the town's past and it's a must visit for photographers, as well as architecture and history buffs! Some of the grand heritage buildings are still being used for their original purpose. Be sure to check out the Cue Hotel, the government buildings, post office, court house, police station and Bell's Emporium. The abandoned buildings are just as fascinating, like the Old Gaol closed in 1914, an abandoned church and the magnificent Great Fingal Mine Site Office. Spring is a lovely time to visit, with the weather mild and winter rains turning the red landscape into a palette of wildflowers!
