19.01.2022 Our travels took us to Richmond today. Spotted this interesting notation of the name change from Coal River (1823) to Richmond.

19.01.2022 Errol Flynn - Our travels took us to historic Oatlands on Monday. The TKO bakery in the main street is very entertaining with walls of memorabilia, including our own Errol. Our hobart city walk passes the birthplace of Errol Flynn. TKO coffee and scones are pretty good too.

14.01.2022 Giveaways! The tourist info centre in town (cnr Davey & Elizabeth St), has panoramic 1 metre long photos of Hobart for FREE. They could be framed but I grabbed one for my grandkiddlings cubby - a bit of pretty geography showing Mt Wellington, Sullivans Cove, Parliament House across to Tasman Bridge. There is a pile of them.

14.01.2022 Pictures of our Past Today we have a special feature for you... photos from Tasmania’s fascinating past :) We start with the opening of Pinnacle Road to the sum...mit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington then revisit the day a tram rolled over on Sandy Bay Road. We have some great pics of the old Huon Road coach, a 100-year-old view of the Rosny golf course, a very early pic of the Launceston pool and an amazing shot of Oatlands from 1873. We also share a open-bus in Hobart (air conditioning wasn't a problem back then), the construction of the Tasman Bridge and pics of the Hobart show and regatta when it was the only show in town! Oh and did we mention it snowed in Hobart in 1910 turning Cascade Brewery into a winter wonderland! There are also some beautiful old photos from Swansea, Burnie, Scottsdale, Penguin, Devonport, Ulverstone and the Richmond Bridge. We would love to see your old Tassie photos and will include them in our next historic feature. You can post to our wall, inbox us or post in the comments below. #Tasmania
