25.01.2022 The Victorian Government has announced that any regional business who consciously fails to check their customers are not from metropolitan Melbourne could face a fine of up to $9913. Individuals found deliberately ignoring the restrictions will risk a fine of $1652. To ensure everyone's safety, we will be tightening our entry policy and identification will be required on entry to the venue. Regardless of your age, or ability to try and convince us you are local it will not ma...tter. No I.D. No Entry. Once again the policies being put in place by the government are asking small business operators to be the 'bad guys' and 'rule enforcers', and all we ask is for an understanding and support of the predicament we face trying to keep our doors open to customers. On the weekend, a person who appeared young was asked for I.D as she was trying to order alcohol. When not able to show any form of ID she was refused service. Other members of her group then proceeded to very loudly and aggressively verbally abuse and threaten the team and management here at the Tavern. To the point of making other customers greatly uncomfortable. This behaviour is completely unacceptable. When entering the TAVERN we will work hard to provide great service, food and beverages in an enjoyable environment. But please note; Management reserve ALL rights of refusal to both entry and service.

14.01.2022 Finally some good news!! We are excited to announce that we will be ready to accept bar and dining customers again at the Tavern from Thursday! Dinner & drinks in the evening only Thursday from 5pm (sorry no lunch on this day as we work to prepare our outdoor settings) From Friday onwards we will open 12pm - 9pm every day for meals & drinks and bookings welcome. Indoor spaces are very limited but we will have plenty of great options for outside dining to really make the most ...of the SPRING! Key Points: Maximum group bookings of 10 people, maximum bookings stay time is 2 hours and we still have to keep tables distanced and are restricted to 10 people inside and 50 outside. But we can definitely make this work and we can not wait to invite everyone back! Our takeaway menu will continue as usual - opening up to being available all day 12pm - 9pm as of this FRIDAY!

13.01.2022 You may not have noticed this print, sitting up high in the Dining Room. An amazing restored print of the famous photo taken of the 11th battalion in Egypt. The photo is of more then 800 officers and men of the battalion, on the Great Pyramid of Cheops. With so many faces in the photo, and many myths surrounding the men portrayed. This is definitely a photo you can stare at for a long long time. The print at the Tavern also includes a few medals in the display. Be sure to take a look next time you are in. Lest we Forget

05.01.2022 Kids playroom is back! The kids playroom is now open during the bistro trading hours of 12pm-9pm daily. The playroom must meet the Covid-19 square metre rule, so we are restricted to how many people can be in the room at one time. We ask for everyone’s cooperation with managing the numbers so we can keep the playroom open during these restricted trading requirements. We have a great staff member, who cleans the playroom.
