25.01.2022 A reminder that the Queensland Fruit Fly is still in our Town, and residents need to be aware of the quarantine zones in place for the movement of local fruit. All of our Town is within the quarantine area, meaning locally grown fruit cannot leave the area including in lunch boxes. Remember to Pick it and eat it OR Treat it, bag it and bin it! More information visit https://bit.ly/3iHRWAW
25.01.2022 Meet Swanbourne Village: There are so many reasons to love the vibe at Swanbourne Village, and its the local businesses who create that community feel. Like Carl, who has owned a barbershop in the village for over 50 years! His business is run on passion, and whole lot of hard work, seeing approximately 50 clients a day and not even having a phone line! What makes Swanbourne special is that people are faithful to the village; the Swanbourne community supports their local businesses
25.01.2022 How fantastic is this tepee made by some local children at the Nature Playspace at Lake Claremont? The playspace is such a beautiful shady spot for a weekend outing, with BBQ facilities and seating area next to the playground.

22.01.2022 There was a sea of black recently at MacLagan Park! These Carnaby Cockatoos were feeding on the seeds from the Norfolk Island Pine trees in the parklands. Its quite a rare sight to see so many in one place at the one time, and what a sight it was!

21.01.2022 How fantastic does this sustainable verge garden look on the corner of Stirling Road and Claremont Crescent? This native arrangement was planted by the Towns field officers last winter. 18.01.2022 With the weather warming up, these little critters are coming out of hiding around Lake Claremont. We’d like to remind you to stick to the paths, keep dogs on leads and remain calm if you see a snake. 11.01.2022 Claremont Football Oval is currently a dog on-lead public open space, allowing residents to exercise their dogs on-lead when the oval is not being used by Claremont Football Club. Council recently received a petition, signed by 88 residents of Claremont on the Park, requesting to change the oval to a dog off-lead exercise area. As a result, we are now seeking community feedback on whether the restrictions on dogs at this space should change. To have your say, visit http://www.claremont.wa.gov.au//YourCommunityYourSay

04.01.2022 Its nesting season! Mother ducks often nest in tree hollows and shrubs that are a distance away from wetlands. Once ducklings have hatched, the families have to walk to their preferred habitat, which can be a challenge! If you see a family on their journey, it is best not to interfere as it can result in the mother taking off and abandoning the ducklings. If needed, try to direct them to a safer path without interfering.... Ducks and ducklings will be making the journey from nest to wetlands such as Lake Claremont from now until November. To report injured or orphaned ducklings, please call the Wildcare Helpline on 9474 9055 or Native Arc on 9417 7105.
