04.01.2022 Bit of Nostalgia Orange NSW once had it's own media centre. Television stations CBN8 and CWN6 and radio station 2GZ, were located just off Bathurst Road Orange.... The buildings have recently been torn down. Back in 1962 when television first came to the Central West of New South Wales. country folk were treated to a wealth of entertainment and news. A compilation of film and videotape segments from CBN channel 8 and CWN channel 6, Orange NSW Australia, from the 1960's. This was a stand-alone Television station which served a large slice of inland New South Wales for 27 years from 1962 until 1989. These popular stations employed over 70 people. Sadly this regional TV service was swallowed up by an Australia-wide network. All gone now, but we have these precious memories compiled by long time CBN 8 CWN 6 Cameraman / Film Editor Leighton Thomas.
