24.01.2022 Chance to sit and talk for a while with Judy about two favourite activities that so many people have a shared interest in. Booking information on the Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council post here.

24.01.2022 Great support from Cosi in getting our region back on the First step of the ‘Roadmap’ for visitors to start coming to see us again, from Monday 11th May 2020

24.01.2022 Canola tends to get much of the glory when it is in flower as it is so photogenic, but the crop in this photo is also a favourite winter crop of many of our broad acre farmers, and you can see it growing across vast areas of the Clare and Gilbert Valley Region now, with its flowers appearing too. The Faba bean, also referred to as Fava and Broad Bean, the broad bean is the same species as Faba but has a slightly longer growing season, these pulses are grown for various reason...s, cover crop, human consumption, animal fodder, they fix their own nitrogen contributing to soil nitrogen levels and enhancing growth of crops sown following them. They appear to create the most fascination and interest, especially with those who have not previously seen them, when they are drying out in the fields and appear dark brown, almost black in colour visitors will ask, 'what is the crop that's growing ? 'what has happened to it ? It is very versatile and a huge export contributor from all parts of Australia and therefore deserves to stand proud along with the Canola. See more

22.01.2022 Joe is bringing his skills, knowledge, and pianos to the region, next Thursday 10th June. Catch up with him while he is here, or Joe will come back again so you could even book your piano tuning, restoration or a purchase in for next time. Highly recommended, and what a unique service for our region. #leaverandsons #auburnsoutherngatewaytotheclarevalley

22.01.2022 November’s edition of the Auburn Express, plenty of things to read, inform, and respond to, contained in it.

22.01.2022 The Riesling Trail has become even more popular in these times, such an asset to all of us, to run, ride or walk on at any time. Well done for 10,000 users of the trail recorded on the Trackers in July. This is an excerpt from Rail Trails Australia, newsletter. The Latest from Rail Trails Australia August 2020 This part month has been very busy with the addition of more Regional Representatives to our team, compiling an Expression of Interest document for our new website that... was sent to prospective website developers, and following up the various rail trail related activities across Australia. We have also successfully implemented a facility whereby Rail Trails Australia supporters can make tax deductible donations to the organisation and in particular help us make a better website for you and all our members. Please visit here if you wish to make this tax deductible donation. Note that we are still determining how to implement this initiative into our current and future website. For the first time ever, the Tracker counter numbers on the Riesling Rail Trail in South Australia were in excess of 10,000 for the month! Overall this rail trail's numbers were 16% above last year at the same time. Every Tracker showed a worthwhile and substantial increase over last year. We gather that such results are being replicated on many trails across Australia. Notwithstanding the ongoing pandemic, there has been plenty of rail trail activity, some of which are the opening of an underpass on the Bellarine Rail Trail in Victoria, the opening of the new Copper Rail Trail in South Australia, a development plan that will benefit the iconic Great Victorian Rail Trail, increased stakeholder support for the proposed Batlow to Tumut Rail Trail based on the success of the recently opened Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail in NSW, a section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail in NSW moving closer to becoming a reality, and enhancing trail riders' experience on the High Country Rail Trail in Victoria. Stay safe!. Regards, The Rail Trails Australia team.
