We have our first training session on Saturday 28th November at Ryan Catholic College with the below timetable: Boys U8's - 9:00am ... 19.01.2022 Although many have already heard, we sadly report the death of Jennifer Board this week in an accident whilst on her motorbike. Jen played in our regular mixed competition, including a game this week, and along with her sister Siana has played with us for a few years. Suffice to say the unfortunate accident and the reasons that lead to her death have received nationwide publicity, we can only send all our condolences to all her family. Life is so unfair when this happens to someone so young. We will also pass on on this site information about details of the funeral when we get them. After discussion with Australian Futsal , with their support we are planning to hold an annual mixed tournament in her honour, and they will also name a trophy at the National Futsal Titles after her . Australian Futsal Technical Director Vince Sciacca, will be holding a series on meetings across North Queensland... next week ( 17th to 21st February) to discuss with interested futsal parties the future of selecting and organising representative teams for major tournaments, and the possibility of forming a club to complement this. Anyone interested in seeing futsal grow in these areas under the Queensland Futsal banner are encouraged to attend. 05.01.2022 NATIONAL FUTSAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021 UPDATE Dear all, We have all been looking forward to taking part in the N...ational Futsal Championships in 16 days time, but we have received some bad news last night. Jetstar and Virgin have cancelled flights going into Sydney the day we are supposed to arrive, and in Jetstar’s case we can only receive credits, which will be issued in 2 weeks. On top of this one of the centre’s we are playing at has cancelled our booking due to COVID restrictions, which makes it impossible to play the tournament at that time. We have therefore made the very hard decision due to a number of factors to postpone the tournament to April (Easter) at the same location. The Juniors will be Saturday 3rd April to Tuesday 6th April and Seniors Thursday 8th April to Sunday 11th April. All airline tickets that AFA have purchased will be changed to these dates, and the MERCURE, for those staying there have said there is accommodation available for people to shift bookings, both AFA’s and people who have independently booked. By now I hope all your state coordinators have contacted you re this decision, as we have contacted all this morning to discuss with them all. They will come back to you after Christmas with details of further training and competitions. Realizing that everyone was keen to at last play, all states have agreed to put on tournaments in the January and February period. Last, we are very sorry this has occurred, but its now out of our control. If you see what is presently happening in Europe and what Gold Coast (and other tourists destinations) restaurants and hotels are going through, things could be worse. As discussed yesterday, can we please have all players registered ASAP as flights and kits need to be booked and ordered. Just as a guide for when registering and ordering playing shirts and polo shirts here are the dimensions for size 12 polo and playing shirts, I hope this helps:... Playing shirt - 51cm across the chest and 61cm from shoulder to bottom of shirt Polo shirt - 44cm across the chest and 60cm from shoulder to bottom of shirt. 01.01.2022 Due to the U11 SAP tournament being held in Brisbane over the weekend a special trial time has been arranged for Thursday 5th November at 4:15pm at the RSL Stadium (Townsville Stadium) for any U11 SAP player wishing to try out for selection for the NQ team heading to the National Club Futsal Championship being held in Sydney in January.
