I’ve haven’t had an injury and never had a problem before!! You go from happy to crying to frustrated! 23.01.2022 Great to see the recent British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) edition that focused on #femaleathletehealth Gender difference is real. Females are 4-6 times more likely to suffer an ACL injury than male athletes in almost every sport on the planet ... Why is this? Hormones Low levels of progesterone and oestrogen during the 14 days post ovulation increase ligament laxity. This means the ACL is less rigid and therefore more likely to tear Female athletes tend to receive less funding therefore the level of technical coaching and physical conditioning tends to be lower Women have wider hips which means there is more force through the knee joint But there is help at hand including Lower Limb and Core strength Plyometrics training

Jumping straight back into old training routines after being inactive because of Covid-19 can be a recipe for disaster Check out this 13 yr old girls right tibia who returned to netball after Covid lockdown! After playing catch up with heaps of games to make up for time lost, within a few weeks the pain in her right leg had stopped her in her tracks. ... X-ray was clear but suspicion of a stress reaction of her tibia was confirmed on MRI. If you look at the video youll see the white hot spot in her right tibia. Moral of the story? Its exciting to be back playing sport again but ease into it! Dont go coco bananas when you return to exercise!

The shoes are donated to those in need at homeless shelters, youth and female crisis centres, indigenous community sporting groups, orphanages, churches, flood and other disaster victims and communities across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Africa. Check the bottom of you...r wardrobe and see if you have any shoes that meet the following criteria 1.SPORTS SHOES only please. 2.NO HOLES AND GOOD SOLES. It is not worth shipping shoes to an orphanage in Southern Africa if they are broken! We want to send shoes that will last a whole winter. 3.CLEAN! Would you like to receive a dirty pair of shoes? They can be hand scrubbed or washed on a short cold cycle in the washing machine. They might be a bit clumsy, trip and fall...maybe even fall and break their arm ... No wonder its hard work!! 03.01.2022 Hot tip for arch pain Give your foot some with the Plantar surface ball smush. Awesome for arch pain and plantar fasciitis... Grab a decent size ball ( before you ask - no, not a golf ball) and with purpose roll across the arch of the foot. When you find a particularly unpleasant spot see if you can sink into it and then move your toes up and down Slowly traverse the whole sole of the foot for 1 to 2 mins Word of warning - avoid the very sore spot under the heel if you are suffering with plantar fasciitis , we don't want to poke the bear! Give it a go 2 mins and your feet will feel amazing!
