25.01.2022 What's grey, weighs 25 kilograms, is 12-years old and went on a 48-hour adventure? Harry the Southern Hairy-Nosed Wombat. The mischievous marsupial, who has liv...ed most of his life at Bungalow Bay Koala Village - Magnetic Island, decided to abscond late Wednesday night prompting a search effort from the tight-knit local community. Volunteers from Magnetic Island SES and Horseshoe Bay Rural Fire Brigade joined the pursuit, which included searching through scrub and lagoons. Thankfully, Harry was found late Friday night and he's once again living the high life in his usual abode. See more

11.01.2022 Our thoughts are with our fellow SES/QFES members in South East Queensland who have been responding to well over a thousand Storm Damage tasks over the past week, assisting the community in recovery from destructive storm cells that went through the area last weekend. https://fb.watch/1zkuaglt-L/
11.01.2022 SES week celebrations held in Ingham last weekend included a 'Rescue Challenge' - three teams were faced with 4 different scenarios that had them thinking quickly and working together to put their skills into practice. Well done to everyone involved. Scores were close, with Team Alpha taking first place, and Team Bravo winning the Spirit of the Challenge award. Isabelle Lauder
08.01.2022 Congrats to our newly appointed SES Floodboat operators who completed the Floodboat course at Charters Towers over the weekend.
03.01.2022 Townsville SES crews were called to assist with a search in Burdekin Sunday evening. With SES & QPS crews searching the fields, the RPAS (drone) team took to the sky and soon after, located the missing person. Great work by all, and wonderful to have this relatively new capability to assist with SES operations.
01.01.2022 The recent severe storms across Queensland have shown us that destructive weather can strike anytime, anywhere. We have teamed up with Queensland Fire and Emerg...ency Services - QFES and Get Ready Queensland to ask everyone to think about what they need in order to face any extreme weather events that might come our way over the next few months.
