25.01.2022 I am using some of my down time to sort through my many many pictures and put them into photo books. A lot to catch up on and I started working backwards starting with my last trip pre Covid. Hard to believe this was only a few months ago in February, Two week in Kenya with RAW Africa Eco Tours. 19.01.2022 I think there needs to be a change in our mind set when we start to return to travel. We have lost a huge amount of brick and mortar stores which will play into the hands of large online platforms most of which are based oversees. Advertising has a lot to do with how we do things and it's up to us to stop and ask ourselves who will benefit from our online booking. Let me give you an example. The other day I got contacted to assist with making a very simple two night accommod...ation booking for a weekend away. Cheapest is no longer the most important aspect. The terms & Conditions attached to attractive rates are crucial. It's definitely a new world out there and the find print is more involved than ever before. Anyway, we found something suitable on Expedia and I booked it in. Even this relatively small booking allowed us to give back through supporting a local community and an important conservation project. I think, we now value the social aspect of making travel arrangements a lot more than pre pandemic. As we have all experienced various degrees of isolation over the last few months it's just nice to communicate with someone and share the excitement we can finally make travel arrangements again. This is why I will be there on the other side. I am passionate about what I do and have build such a great network of clients and conservation friends that I simply do not want to walk away from.
