25.01.2022 Mornin' Everyone I recently created a Ko-Fi Page! For those unaware, the idea behind Ko-Fi is that people are able to support your creative endeavours via a small payment donation that is roughly equal to the price of a coffee. Over the course of the remainder of the year, I plan on uploading transcription sheets of my own works, videos & PDF sheets. I have a goal I am working towards through support so if you're interested you can jump over to the link and have a read. ... I've created an "Essential 4 Chord Sheet" PDF for beginner guitarists/ukulele players to download as a thank you for those generous enough to make a donation. https://ko-fi.com/tqmusic

15.01.2022 One of my most common practice tips for my students is: Use a ! There is a multitude of reasons to use a metronome, but I think Andy Leary sums up a clear note regarding a students improvement through the use of a metronome here: ... "One thing I emphasize with all of my guitar students is the importance of using a metronome when practising. Most of my students are initially resistant to the idea of using one. Some remain resistant to it, while others eventually embrace the metronome as a practice tool. I can usually see a clear distinction in the playing of my students who make a habit of using a metronome compared to those that don’t. The students that do use one tend to have much smoother playing, better technique, and are able to learn difficult songs more quickly." By the way, you don't have to buy the big ol' metronome pictured here. There are plenty of free ones available through the app store on your phone or tablet. As well as one freely available on google. - Tom

05.01.2022 & . Recently I began trialling practice charts for students. For most of us, consistency can be difficult without structures or plans in place to monitor what we have been doing or how we are progressing. What are your key self-disciplinary measures, motivators, plans, goals or habits you've implemented in your practice routine to ensure you are staying consistent? ... - Tom

04.01.2022 Practicing the head of Kenny Burrells rendition of there will never be another you. Still a WIP. I recorded this one over and over again to try and get all the chord shapes to a standard I was happy with. I should put up a quick edit of all the takes where I made mistakes for my students to watch, just so they know I still understand how frustrating it can be trying to learn something new. - Tom
