23.01.2022 Rail Trail D A R K A N to C O L L I E Multipurpose Trail ... I had the pleasure of shuttling these lovely ladies to Hillman (about 6km out of Darkan) the start of their 52 km journey back to Buckingham (west of Collie) 5 ladies, 5 bikes, 2 cars.......I met the group at the Banksia Motel we loaded up the bikes, headed on our way to park the cars at Buckingham and traveled to Hillman for the group to start the ride - no need to drive back to Hillman to collect the cars - car shuffle solved! The 46.5km Collie to Darkan Rail Trail passes through bush and picturesque farmlands. In springtime the area is carpeted in wildflowers. The multi-use trail is a pleasant journey suitable for walkers, horse and bike riders. A little stop at the very cute Bowelling station, built in 1919. The ride takes on average between 5-7 hours just depending on your speed..... Looking forward to sharing the next adventure of these lovely ladies in the future! The Narrogin to Darkan line opened in September 1906 and the extension to Collie in 1907. The rail line was used to cart timber, farm produce and general freight. The line continued to operate until 1988. 22.01.2022 T H E. T R A C K meet Simone .....ah that’s me! Absolutely no intention of hiking today but got the call from the amazing Sue whom had to call it quits. I trekked into to Yourdamung, threw on the pack 13 kg and back to the car . It was only 1.5km, these hikers power through 20 km plus a day !!! ... Hopefully after some rest Sue will be back to continue on - end to end - Kalamunda to Albany - that’s right all 1003 km of it These hikers are exhausted and hungry! What started as a whimsical misty morning in the valley, then the sun burst through on the Sika trail. I was looking for a shorter walk and this trail hit the spot! From The Kiosk to Tom Jones Drive at Potters Gorge return 6 km in total. 07.01.2022 Treat your Dad this Fathers Day Ashley, Michelle and Rocky explored the Arklow Trails in the Collie River Valley TraaVerse made their adventure so much easier... @TraaVerese we can package up Bike hire Crank'n Cycles Collie and shuttle to the start of the adventure. The crew started at Mornington Glory, rode to link to Dead Cats and then circled around on the Arklow Adaptive. We met back up with them at Ray's Trail carpark to see happy riders! All these trails are realativly easy to moderate, with a killer hill towards the end of the Adaptive This was Michelle's first MTB riding experience and we are please to say she had a blast. Rocky (in the background) is keen to hit those new jumps on the 220 return and onto trail 7 and he may just bring along some buddies to hit the tracks with ...... or Dad.
