22.01.2022 I've always loved taking photos of horses but lately I find myself really enjoying taking photos that show the relationship between horses and their people. 22.01.2022 Every show horse has a story and every show horse has a support crew working busily behind the scenes to get them into the ring. Sometimes it is a big crew, sometimes it is one single person making the magic happen. When all the hard work pays off it is time to smile! This happy pair are Deb Hatherell and Summer Park Apollo celebrating Apollo's show ring debut at the AHAQ Spring Classic. Apollo is the last foal from the Summer Park Anglo Arabian breeding program, born and ra...ised at Eskdale Arabians. He was purchased by Deb earlier in the year, prepped by Sierra Lodge Coloured Arabians and shown by The Travelling Horseman. I have been photographing Apollo since he was a newborn foal and it was really special to be able to capture his first time in the show ring. What is the story behind your show horse? I was photographing the Youth classes on Saturday and Purebred halter on Sunday. https://photos.tracedigital.com.au/f475725619... I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has already purchased images, I truly appreciate your support. Each horse has their own gallery to help make finding images easier. If I have mislabelled a horse, or put the wrong horse in the wrong gallery please let me know. 13.01.2022 Thank you for your patience! Youth photos are now online. Purebred halter photos are under way and should be online later this evening. A big thank you to everyone who has reached out about photos, I am working as fast as I can and hope to share the Purebred halter photos soon :) Pictured is Patron's Cup winner Matthew Dyball with Aranui Odysseus. Matty spent Saturday competing then spent Sunday stewarding. There were lots of smiles and lots of positivity at this show with everyone getting into the ring and having a go. 09.01.2022 It has been a challenge! For the last 7 days I have been participating in the Rise Up! Photography Challenge organised by Shelley Paulson Photography. Thank you Shelley for such a fun challenge with a great group of people! Every day had a different theme and every day I tried to challenge myself to try something new and shoot as far out of my comfort zone as I could. As much as possible I tried to include the horses but fell off that wagon toward the end of the week! I've i...ncluded themes and comments on each photo. They're not perfect and it was a great exercise to try new things. Which photo is your favourite? 02.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone! Wishing you all a very happy holiday season and all the very best for the new year. It's been a year like no other and I sincerely want to thank everyone that has supported me in 2020. I truly do appreciate the opportunity to capture the magic between you and your horse. They say don't work with children or animals but photos like these make it worthwhile Every horse person can tell a story about their very first horse and this little boy adores his Arabian mare. I know these memories will be treasured as he grows up. Merry Christmas!
