18.01.2022 We recently completed this doco on the lost suburb of Montague, a working class pocket of South Melbourne that was systematically disappeared through industrialisation over several decades. Most Melbournians know Montague Street but are unaware that there was actually a suburb of the same name. The film is part of a more extensive exhibition on Montague currently on view at the St Kilda Town Hall, Carlisle Street Arts Space, 99a Carlisle Street, St Kilda. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptKPk1AogSo&feature=youtu.be

02.01.2022 Montague was a pocket of South Melbourne. It was slowly and systematically industrialised over decades and by the late 1960s it had disappeared as a residential area. In its heyday it was an incredibly vibrant and close community. The City of Port Phillip commissioned Traces Films to interview Montague survivors and create a half hour documentary. It's now screening at the St Kilda Town Hall as part of an exhibition titled 'Montague: A Community Lost and Found' ... go take a look. Fascinating Melbourne history from the people who lived it.
