25.01.2022 Highland Hideaway// After an enjoyable but hectic few weeks on the road, it was well timed that we retreated to Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands, Inverfarigaig to be specific, for a week with my much missed sister, niece and nephew. There, we rambled around our hilly backyard (some hills around Loch Ness reach 1000ft), enjoyed Scottish delicacies such as haggis, neeps and tatties and homemade tablet, toasted marshmallows on the fire, skimmed rocks on the loch, spotted H...eilan Coos (Highland cows), spent a fortune on slime making ingredients to keep the girls happy and generally tried not to feel guilty about doing not very much at all! Stylewise, well there wasnt much style this week at all to be honest. On the whole I packed well for my trip but a failing would be that I only I only packed one pair of exercise clothes. I have been on an exercise hiatus at home (might need to rethink that when I get home from this indulgent holiday) so it wasnt on my radar but I lived in them this week and had to continually wash them. Noted for our next adventure. The weather has been incredibly kind to us in Britain thus far and even though we broke out our raincoats and jeans for the first time, the rainy spell was well received and needed to break the clammy, balmy nights. Whilst Loch Ness is beautiful and all, I think the main question on our lips was...does the Loch Ness monster really exist? To solve our queries, we decided to charter a boat and have a wee look for ourselves. Update on that adventure on my next post but feel free to let me know what you think in the meantime. 24.01.2022 Fathers Day Love // Fingers crossed my girls grow up to be as loving, kind, strong, fearless, driven and patient as their Dad. Grateful us girls have him to lead the way. Extra points for listening to my incessant chit-chat, making me tea in bed every morning and pouring me large vinos when necessary of an evening Lovely day spent at Capital Brewing Co.with the Davis clan and nice the wives got to sneak in a wee gin tasting sesh at Big River Distillery. 24.01.2022 Golden Girl // More is more today as I celebrate my birthday at @groovinthemoo festival in this tinseled wonder courtesy of the shiny and sparkly Rachel @imakestagram. I bought it as a gift to me from my husband so you can imagine his face this morning when he realised he had actually bought me this instead of a new Winter jacket I now have a new level against which to gauge any future happiness levels. If it doesnt make me feel as happy as I do in this shiny jacket then ...I am not buying it! Thanks also to @stephchurchmakeup for being a good friend and saving the day by painting my face as I somehow lost my entire make up bag. Thats a story for another day... 23.01.2022 Handmade Market Canberra // I cant believe this is the first time I have attended @handmadecanberra! Such a treat to support original Australian designers and local, small businesses. A well run market that appeals to young and old alike. The next one is on the 28 and 29th July so best get it on the calendar. 23.01.2022 Cowboy Chic // Whether you like it or loathe it, cowboy inspired western boots are back. They work well for the increasingly chilly Northern hemisphere yet remain appropriate for the sunny, festival season coming our way Down Under. In 2018 you can ditch the double denim and try them with mini, midi or maxi skirts/ dresses, skinny jeans or shorts.... 22.01.2022 Cheeky Toilet Selfie // Documenting the fact I am out of my jeans for the first time these school holidays, if only for a few hours. Today I spent the morning with @victoriasmodelscanberra newest recruits (35 eager teens) discussing their personal style and how they would like to be perceived. Today I wore my @dionlee tuxedo dress (available from the @cueclothingco store at @canberraoutlet ) open as longline vest. ... When I am presenting I need to feel confident in my clothes and nothing makes me feel more me than pants, blouse and a vest in my favourite (TDS branding) colourway. I felt invincible. Actually, thats a lie. I did feel invincible until the reality of breaking in my new heels on my feet for hours hit home. Lucky I had some spares and a rookie error on my part. 22.01.2022 I nearly fell off my chair when I was invited to be a part of her HerCanberra's 'Home Stories' series. Our old, light and airy, freshly renovated home? Sure. Our new-ish, dark and moody, parquetry floored, brick walled, 70's Aranda abode? Who would be interested in that?... Turns out the interior design aficionado Ashley Feraude and the girl with a good eye, Cass Atkinson from Plum Photography were and I thought I would share the interview here in case you fancied a wee look, too. We have done very little to the interior since we moved in, instead choosing to get used to the house as it is while we focus our energy and finances on our outside living areas. Our home style is predominately mid-century inspired; a mash-up of unique, vintage pieces with more affordable, modern items. Similar to how I balance my personal style actually; versatile, classic, investment pieces highlighted with current trend items. Just like your personal style, I believe your home communicates who you are and what is important to you. It might not be to everyone's taste but I hope it feels like 'Richard and Tracey's' home rather than just a house. We are close to finalising our renovation plans and once the wee money tree out the back gets a move on and grows, we should start work later this year on making a few internal changes without compromising the original aesthetic too much. Once the renovations are complete I hope Ashley and Cass come for an updated interview. I am not above winning friends and influencing people with truffle cheese and champagne so I promise that kicker again if you make the time peeps. 21.01.2022 Til Death Do Us Party // I must confess that when packing for our trip I didnt consider what will I wear if I get invited to a wedding? But low and behold, within 2 hours of arriving in Edinburgh last week we were invited to the wedding of an old friend of mine the very next day. Thats Scottish hospitality for you and grateful my big brother and fiance were on hand to babysit. Luckily I packed this @rixolondon spotty number as a incase I go anywhere nice dress so didnt... need to stress about an outfit. The ruching around the tummy area was a godsend 1 month into our holiday after the cheese and wine fest I insist on having My pictures with the groom didnt turn out too well so here I am with the best man and old friend who, much to my amusement, broke his shoes and had to pair his kilt with his trainers (see next pic). The bride stunned in a non-traditional black dress but son Harrison stole the show in his cute wee kilt Belated thank you and congrats to @jasoncormack1976 and wife Gemma for allowing us to share your special day and gifting us memories of our trip that will be hard to forget. 18.01.2022 Napoli // Where we survived the craziest taxi ride and nearly all got taken out crossing the road but met some friendly locals in the grimy backstreets, visited a couple of castles and most importantly enjoyed their famous pizza and ice creams Wearing what I call a vintage @misterzimi dress which I bought a good 6 or 7 years ago and comes on every holiday with me. Its timeless print and cut is a great cover up by the pool which can also be worn with sandals in the da...y or a wedge or block heel at night. More looks with less which is always a winner Also wearing my @lackofcolor hat which I rarely take off on holiday as it covers and protects my entire face. Good for sun protection, not so good for photos. 14.01.2022 Meditteranean Cruisin // They had me at ALL INCLUSIVE FOOD AND BOOZE We started our cruise in Barcelona, Spain with the next stop being Naples, Italy. Heres a few pics of us mincing around our Norwegian cruiseship. Didnt see myself as being the cruising type but it is fitting the bill rather nicely Current dress code is swimsuit as a bodysuit and this Maje pink number is just the ticket.... Its not often youll catch me in a pastel number but it looks like the Med is softening my bold and high contrast ways. Well, for now at least. With love from Europe, TDS xx

14.01.2022 AW Fashion Workshops // Find Your Style I was lucky enough to meet some amazing women on Saturday at @canberraoutlet who were all eager to lay the foundation to develop their own personal style. Together with @sofiapolak, we got them to roll their sleeves up and jump back to their childhoods with a cutting and pasting exercise which resulted in their own Personal Style Mood Boards. ... We helped the guests turn their board into style words and identified how and where to shop for their newly discovered style personalities. Judging on the purchases made on the day alone, I trust our advice was well received. We are aleady on to planning the next workshop and hope to see you there. 13.01.2022 Easter Adventures // Having wanted to visit for some time, I am excited to finally be gallivanting in a motorhome around New Zealands South Island with my family for the Easter school holidays. Much to my pre-teens initial disdain for the constant and close proximity to her family with next to no electronics - I can now safely say we have all settled in to life on the road. Our last RV experience in the States necessitated driving hundreds and hundreds of miles each day so ...this trip we were keen to take the pressure off and have stopped where there are hills or rocks to climb, sunrises to wake for, sunsets to watch, stars to gaze, long lunches to eat and roadside, snack time Uno games to play. So far we have driven from Christchurch through Lake Takapo, Mount Cook, Wanaka, Queenstown and are currently in Te Anau where coincidentally there is a tartan festival being held so pipe bands, highlands dancers and whisky tastings are afoot. New Zealands beautiful rolling landscape reminds me a little of Scotland which adds an extra layer of appreciation Next stop is Milford Sound which is the unofficial 8th Wonder of the World if Rudyard Kipling is to be believed. 11.01.2022 Move Over Florals // If there was one fashion take-away from my recent trip to Europe, it was that leopard is pushing florals aside this Spring/ Summer. I love a trend that, in my eyes, never went away. Leopard is a neutral and can be worn in place of black to add as much or as little punch as you are comfortable with. . To some its youthful, others its mature. Some thinks its a nighttime only look while others wear it casually. If unsure you can dip your toes in subtly thr...ough accessories or, if you are a seasoned leopard lover, boldly in head-to-toe jumpsuits and maxi dresses. Most commonly this season you will find it on another seasonal trend; the wrap skirt. Not everyone wants to jump straight into shorts as the weather heats up, nor commit to a dress so this flattering, comfy and airy in-between could be just what you are looking for. . The midi version will be everywhere but slip, pencil, mini and maxi versions in all colours (not just leopard) will be flooding the shops. . I treated myself to a couple on my travels which I look forward to wearing with a t-shirt for easy dressing although with their (most commonly) high waists, theyd also look great with bodysuits and crop tops (if you are lucky enough to be able to wear them). . 10.01.2022 Scottish Gran // Its been almost 3 years since I have seen my Mum, and the girls their Scottish Gran, so it was lovely to fly back to Liverpool where she arrived to join us on holiday for 10 days. Next stop, Barcelona!! I know I am wearing black in Summer but this silk jumpsuit by @misterzimi has more than earned its place in my suitcase. Ive so far worn it with a tee and also a blouse underneath, have changed the belt and shoe colours and also placed a knit over the top... to make it appear as if I am wearing wide leg pants/ trousers. Remember, the more looks you can get with less items is the key to a hardworking wardrobe at home but even more importantly on holiday, too. 08.01.2022 Norn Iron // When I last visited Northern Ireland in early 2000s my highlight would no doubt have been 2 for 1 vodkas from a dodgy backstreet nightclub. Whilst I still wouldnt turn my nose up at a free beverage, the highlight this trip was undoubtedly our visit to world heritage site, The Giants Causeway. Legend has it that a giant named Finn McCool was having a bit of bother with a Scottish giant across the water called Benandonner. ... Enraged, Finn grabbed chunks of the Antrim coast and threw them into the sea which created a path, or causeway, for him to walk across to teach ol Benandonner a lesson. Scientists would rather us believe that it is the aftermath of volcanic crashing, burning and cooling. An epic 60 million year old legacy to lava with over 40, 000 interlocked basalt columns. I know which story I prefer but either way, its a beautiful sight to behold if you are lucky enough to visit. 08.01.2022 General Merchants // Last week @cheffez was cooking for @carlcoxofficial (see next pic) and this week he gets the pleasure of cooking for my motley crew. Oh how the mighty fall I recall a chat in Melbourne when Tim said he wanted to move back to Belfast with his fair lady to open his own cafe. Fast forward 6 or so years and he now co-owns not only 1 but 3 successful cafes in Belfast. ... Happy and grateful to visit them in person, explore Belfast and show my girls that hard work chucked in with a big streak of bravery goes a long way. Hope you chase some dreams today, too. 04.01.2022 Scunnered // I could say I am pissed off at losing the past weeks phone photos from our European adventure but the Scottish word, scunnered conveys the annoyance with more oomph I feel. Therefore I have saved you from photos of the rest of our cruise which stopped at Florence, Rome, Cannes and Palma de Mallorca as well as some more pics of Barcelona (this time at @parkguell, a magical place). We had a jolly good time, for the record. Weve now landed back in Scotland and... first stop was my home village of Kirkfieldbank and nearby town, Lanark. After being on the road for 3 weeks, it was nice to lay low for a couple of days and show my family the sights of my old stomping ground. They especially loved our walk along the clyde to world heritage site, @newlanark. I forgot how much beauty and heritage lay on my doorstep as a youth.
