15.01.2022 - Old Age Dogs - **IMPORTANT Please Read** To fully care for all OLD AGE Dogs, I am sending my love out in a post to reach the owners of those who have fur babies in their old years of life.. ... I have had a good handful of older Dogs come through my salon who are Blind/Part Blind or Deaf/Part Deaf OR Have BOTH.. I understand that summer is coming & general grooming needs are required for our beautiful fur babies of ALL ages. However, I am wanting ALL dog owners to please understand & respect the decision made for your OLD fur baby, should I not be able to finish/complete/Start any service you maybe requesting I do. It is for the best interests of your OLD fur baby, that I offer 100% care & observation of their well-being while in my care.. If your fur baby shows any kind of distress, heart racing activity, loss of toilet control during, or at any stage they are in my care. I will STOP the grooming... I'm so sorry.. I will try methods such as these, - calm cuddles to help with anxiety/racing hearts - scissor grooming, rather than clippers - treats & general calming of the environment before I completely STOP the grooming session.. If your pet responds well to those methods, then I will continue with the grooming as best as I can. HOWEVER, if your pet is showing signs of further distress, then I will not continue, as it's for the safety of your gorgeous fur baby.. This may then result in, a not so pretty haircut/style. Or I may not be able to provide ALL your pets grooming needs, example: hiegine needs. I can offer you a home visit, where TOGETHER you & I, can attend a grooming session with your OLD dog, in the environment where he/she feels most safe.. Having YOU and being in their OWN environment, is the best place for an OLDER dog who is DEAF OR BLIND.. I hope you appreciate the love that I am trying to give your fur baby by making these choices, should this happen with your experience with me..
