25.01.2022 Thanks Bob Cooper Outback Survival for sharing some of your insights!

25.01.2022 I know many of us already do this, but spread the word to others...

24.01.2022 This site has good advice.... https://www.police.wa.gov.au//Outback-Travel-Bushwalking-a

24.01.2022 Thanks to all the volunteers who helped Pemberton Discovery Tours with the annual clean-up at Yeagarup Dunes. Fun was had and a goodly amount of rubbish was removed.

23.01.2022 Did you know about this really cool school?

23.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing y'all on Friday, Saturday or Sunday at the Perth 4WD and Adventure Show at McCallum Park. We will have our own stand #79 (look for our new bright green gazebos!) as well as a stand in Tourism Western Australia's "WA Adventure Travel Hub" #84. Also Graham Weber will be outlining what we are, what we do & where we do it at 9:45 each morning at the Engel Bush Camp Stage #258. Come along and get a coffee at the nearby stalls before he speaks about the Greatest Volunteering Experience EVER! https://fb.me/e/4mp9pYzoM

22.01.2022 Rego is now open...

21.01.2022 We all help out in our little ways...and some big! Ray is a man on a serious mission...you can coast along the recycling path or do something about it, as Ray is doing.

21.01.2022 Another great place to visit in our fascinating rangelands.

21.01.2022 Dont forget tomorrow evening... Please note the new venue - the Market City Tavern at 280 Bannister Rd in Canning Value. The times are the usual 7pm - 9pm. Look forward to seeing you there...

21.01.2022 Very busy for a Friday morning

21.01.2022 Our ongoing struggle against that minority of people who are only capable of destruction. If you see something, take a photo and say something. CrimeStoppers have an online form where you can upload photos and the rangers reckon they are good at following up. https://www.crimestopperswa.com.au/make-report/

21.01.2022 Trying a new meeting venue at the Market City Tavern

20.01.2022 Great news South West 4WD Club Inc. and congratulations on your adoption agreement! Also, good to see your using the Respect the Bush bags from Drifta Camping and 4WD. https://www.drifta.com.au/product/respect-the-bush-bags/

20.01.2022 Almost ready to roll from the Grove... https://www.facebook.com/events/658202324894368/

20.01.2022 Some of the major issues the responsible community are addressing. Today in a National Park we came across Riffle Targets, shot up signs, and bollards protecti...ng sensitive conservation areas ripped out. Its a real shame when you see these types of things happening in National Parks. Its these types of behaviour that cause tracks to be permanently closed to the public. National Parks are created as Conservation safe havens for sensitive flora and fauna. Isuzu 4x4 Club of WA Inc. Forum Track Care WA Inc

19.01.2022 Happy National Bird Week! We're celebrating by sharing a photo of one of the world's most elusive birds - the night parrot. Previously thought to be extinct, th...e night parrot was recently found in the Pilbara on Martu country by Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa (KJ) rangers, who have been working for two years alongside experts from the University of Queensland searching for any sight of the bird. What are some of your favourite birds in WA? : Australian Geographic

19.01.2022 Shell be right...really? Better to be properly prepared.

19.01.2022 Good advice - well worth the short read!

18.01.2022 On the nurdle news...a vacuum cleaner invented in South Africa to deal with micro plastics in particular the infamous nurdles we helped UWA measure 2 years back. The micro plastics by their very nature are entering the food chain and ending up not only in the poor animals but us humans too. our world...it’s the only one we’ve got

17.01.2022 Last day of the Perth 4WD and Adventure Show. Graham will be giving a little talk at the Engel Stage at 09h45. If you miss it come over to our stand #79 just behind the stage near the coffee stalls.

17.01.2022 Well worth a read!

17.01.2022 Well worth a second read if you have already seen this RAC article by Chris Morton - a must read otherwise!

17.01.2022 See you tonight...

16.01.2022 Why is this an important building from an architectural point of view, who was the builder and where is it located?

16.01.2022 Yanunijarra Aboriginal Corporation is monitoring the benefits of the Ngurrara Rangers fire management program in the Great Sandy Desert. Keep up your good work!

15.01.2022 And an annual clean-up of our underwater environment... https://www.perthnow.com.au//fremantle-fishing-boat-harbou

15.01.2022 The Punmu rangers packed up and headed for Well 33 stopping along the way to see several waterholes and rockholes. The first soak (Kuny-Kuny) offered a chance... for elders and rangers to pay their respects for people who had passed and share a cultural story for this place. Karingarra soak was next, and the rangers had to dig it out a bit as there was no fresh kapi (water) in the bottom. Another rockhole was full of kapi but it was quite a lovely shade of bright green, likely thanks to camels drinking and getting their kurna (scat) in it another important reminder as to why invasive species need to be managed on Martu country. The last rockhole (Nganjirr) was a series of three large rockholes in a perfect line right next to one another. The trip enabled the continuation of passing on of cultural knowledge and stories which enables younger Martu to remain culturally strong and assist in keeping their country healthy. s: group shot at Karingarra soak; and rangers cleaning out the soak.

15.01.2022 A successful weekend in Collie helping at the Roelands Village

15.01.2022 This week it’s been a fantastic week with desert rangers coming together in Broome for the IDA mentoring workshop. Rangers want to lead and run the projects and the mentoring program makes that possible. Thanks to IDA.

12.01.2022 This is so important...starting early, sowing the seeds, owning responsibility for our environment

12.01.2022 This is something we at TrackCare are working hard to change to ensure generations after us get to access the tracks and areas we've been so privileged to use. We understand many of us don’t want to get involved because, well, we’re not all the fighting types. But when even a minority cause these issues and we do nothing, the outcome is one that WILL affect us . If you see something, please say something (https://crimestoppers.com.au).

11.01.2022 Our mighty Tingle trees down south...the walkway was not just built for tourists but also to protect the trees themselves. We see this in a number of other locations where walkways have been built...to protect nesting birds, lizards, plants. So please dont wander off the tracks - protect our beautiful country for ourselves and future generations to come

This type of wetland has high conservation values such as containing a large number of local endemic plant species, including priority and threatened flora. This... type of wetland is also noted for its richness in aquatic macro-invertebrates and is a habitat for a variety of frog species. Most of the wetlands in the south west have been cleared and drained after European settlement, and only those that still remain in near pristine condition are located in national parks and nature reserves. https://www.trackcare.com.au/?p=4117 See more
