25.01.2022 Check out the new addition to my studio kitchen. When I asked Dad for a cutting board to fit over the hot plates I didn't expect anything this fancy! My Dad is a true craftsman. He made all the kitchen cabinets too. #bestdadintheworld ... #woodwork #newstudio #yogainnundah See more

25.01.2022 All classes are back in person this week at Geebung but Tuesday nights are still online for now. I cant wait to see you all in person again. Its new moon at the end of this week so give yourself permission to slow down and take it easy so as not to drain your kidney energy which can be depleted from not enough rest. Forward bends are a lovely way to gently stretch the back of the body and the bladder meridian and this forward bend janu sirsasana will also stimulate our... kidneys by lengthening the fascia around the kidney area. Join me in class: Monday 5:45pm Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung Monday 7:30pm Mindful Chi Flow @ Geebung Tuesday 7:15pm Yoga for Vitality ONLINE Thursday 9:30am Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung Saturday 8am Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung ** ** Dont forget to book in for the Saturday class by messaging or emailing me Please bring your own mat and any props you wish to use. See you at Geebung or online Tracy x

21.01.2022 It's a new week and a new moon this Sunday so we'll be honouring that dip in energy and doing some more floor moves this week. We are still working towards dragonfly pose so will be using our abs with a twist and hip stretch. Lots of fun! Here's this week's timetable. There's always space in my hall classes (Tuesday night and Saturday morning) and online tonight. If you want to nab the last space in Mindful Chi Flow for tonight or a place in my studio on Thursday let me ...know. Monday 5:45pm Yoga for Vitality @ the studio (FULL) Monday 7:30pm Mindful Chi Flow @ the studio (1 space) & ONLINE Tuesday 7:15pm Yoga for Vitality @ Nundah SS hall Thursday 9:30am Yoga for Vitality @ the studio (2 spaces) Saturday 8am Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung UC hall See you on the mat. 20.01.2022 This would have to be my favourite forward bend. I think of it as the lazy persons halasana (plough) because Im not up on my shoulders, but instead the weight goes through my mid and upper thoracic which gives me a nice massage on my upper back. Its a nice way to stimulate the bladder meridian points either side of the spine. This is to be done with caution though - unless you can touch your head to your shins in the seated forward bend paschimottanasana then this upside... down position can place a lot of stress on the spine. Definitely not recommended if you have osteoporosis or osteopenia or tight hamstrings.Instead, just bend your knees and try a gentle rock forward and back to stimulate your bladder meridian points. Come warm up and nourish yourself on the mat with me this week: Monday 5:45pm Geebung Monday 7:30pm Mindful Chi Flow Geebung Tuesday 7:15pm Nundah Thursday 9:30am Geebung Saturday 8am Geebung

19.01.2022 My new studio classes start this week! Join me in my new studio on Monday evenings and Thursday mornings (bookings required) or ONLINE for Mindful Chi Flow on Monday nights. 19.01.2022 Today I am welcoming 2 lucky people into my studio space for the first time for a zenthai shiatsu treatment. I totally love this space that we have created, starting with the brilliant design by @annegrimesarchitect and the meticulous build by Craig Martin. Theres still a little bit of finishing to go and I cant wait to show you all the final product. Swipe to see the sunset view! Stunning! #zenthaishiatsubrisbane #zenthaishiatsu #yogatherapybrisbane #yogawithtracygray #ilovemynewstudio

19.01.2022 Change of location for THIS SATURDAY + new term of Studio classes start MONDAY - only a couple of places remaining - https://mailchi.mp/603b5620ee/change-of-venue-this-saturday

19.01.2022 Heres more evidence why Ive brought more circular and spiralling movements into my yoga practice and into my classes. At first I found it difficult to "just flow" and move free-form without any pattern as this was not how my brain was used to doing things. But letting go of structured movement has made my body and my mind less rigid. Please read Donna Farhis post below as well as the article. Ive trained with both Donna and Liz Koch who Donna also mentions and have found their trainings to be insightful and refreshing.

19.01.2022 Let me share my dream with you! Studio classes start tonight - https://mailchi.mp/666be3118ea3/studio-classes-start-tonight

18.01.2022 Ive been talking a lot about fluid spinal movements in my classes this last week. Heres some inspiration for how our spine should be able to move: https://youtu.be/1gd7FWYp-jQ

18.01.2022 Tuesday nights will be in my Studio during December & January PLUS learn how to nourish your fire element. https://mailchi.mp/d3046e402c0b/tuesday-nights-in-the-studio

17.01.2022 Just a reminder there is NO CLASS TODAY (Saturday) or on Monday evening as Im doing more Ayurveda training. Id really appreciate it if you could stick out your tongue next time you see me to hone my skills at tongue diagnosis. Also dont forget to reserve your place in my studio classes that start Monday 7th Sept. Classes are almost full!

16.01.2022 Lets be playful this week as we head towards this Sundays full moon Continuing our theme on wide leg forward bends well be working towards tittibhasana (firefly pose). As with all arm balances, it is important to stabilise the shoulders by pushing armpits down. "Scrunch" the mat with the fingers to strengthen the wrists. Curl your tail under and push sit bones forward to engage the core and stop the legs sliding down the arms. And definitely dont moisturise your arms ...before this one!!! Remember if you want a gentler class without any weight bearing through the arms then Mindful Chi Flow is for you! All classes are on this week, with Tuesday night still online: Monday 5:45pm Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung Monday 7:30pm Mindful Chi Flow @ Geebung Tuesday 7:15pm Yoga for Vitality ONLINE Thursday 9:30am Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung Saturday 8am Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung See you there! 16.01.2022 Hello Monday, hello full moon and hello Summer This week we begin to explore the fire element and its associated meridians (heart, pericardium, small intestine and triple heater). Over the coming weeks we'll be looking at postures that strengthen the arms, expand the heart and bring joy to your practice. ... Tuesday night classes are in my home studio throughout December and January. Just send me a quick message to let me know you'll be attending (and if you need my address). I'm so excited to share this space with my Tuesday night group. 16.01.2022 Prasarita padottanasana is one of my favourite forward bends. I love the stretch in the hamstrings and the adductors (inner thighs) as well as the stretch through the front of the shoulders. Stretch the mat apart with your feet to allow the adductors to lengthen and be sure to lift the shoulders away from the ears so as not to hunch as you squeeze the shoulder blades together to open the chest. . The moon is a waxing crescent after yesterdays new moon so join me in clas...s at Geebung or online as we build some chi. . This weeks class times: Monday 5:45pm Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung Monday 7:30pm Mindful Chi Flow @ Geebung Tuesday 7:15pm Yoga for Vitality ONLINE Thursday 9:30am Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung Saturday 8am Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung ** ** Dont forget to book in for the Saturday class by messaging or emailing me. This Saturday is almost full. Please bring your own mat and any props you wish to use. See you on the mat yogis & yoginis. Tracy x

16.01.2022 Faceplanting yoga style! I kurmasana aka turtle pose, especially at this winding-down phase of the lunar cycle. Its "water element" meets "last quarter" , slowing the breath and breathing into the kidney space as you gently melt and spread onto the floor. Dont worry if you cant get your chest all the way to the floor though. Just bend your knees and reach your heart forward and down to round and lengthen the back of your spine to stimulate the bladder meridian.... Schools back and so are my classes. (Nundah still online). Monday 5:45pm Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung Monday 7:30pm Mindful Chi Flow @ Geebung Tuesday 7:15pm Yoga for Vitality ONLINE Thursday 9:30am Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung Saturday 8am Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung See you there. :) Tracy x

15.01.2022 Happy Monday! Throughout this month we'll be working our way towards dragonfly pose, building it up step by step. This week we will start with hip flexibility and external rotation. Great to get into those tight butt muscles! Join me on the mat this week. There's a couple of spaces in my studio classes for tonight if you are quick! Message me to reserve your place: Monday 5:45pm Yoga for Vitality @ the studio (2 places left) Monday 7:30pm Mindful Chi Flow @ the studio (2... places left) and Online Tuesday 7:15pm Yoga for Vitality @ Nundah SS hall Thursday 9.30am Yoga for Vitality @ the studio (FULLY BOOKED) Saturday Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung UC hall See you there!

15.01.2022 Spring is almost here, so its time to start working on our side body to nourish the Gall Bladder meridian and Wood Element. Parsvakonasana is a posture that I have grown to love. I didnt like it at all when I first started practising yoga because I would lean on my thigh, keep my spine straight, reach my arm away from my back leg and not feel any side stretch at all. It all changed when I attended a workshop with Simon Borg-Olivier (@simonsynergy) many years ago. His instru...ction allowed me to actually feel the side stretch and Ive loved this posture ever since. To really feel the side stretch, lift up out of your lower arm (even if you have your arm on your thigh), lift the lower side waist away from your thigh (so as not to collapse into the posture), squeeze the lower armpit towards the hip and then lengthen the upper shoulder away from the upper hip to create length all through the upper side (and a slight side flexion). And dont forget to roll your armpit towards your face (ie "smell your armpit!") so as to create space in the upper back. Then breathe and enjoy this blissful side stretch. Im still attending Ayurveda training today, so only 3 classes this week: Tuesday 7:30pm @ Nundah Thursday 9:30am @ Geebung Saturday 8am @ Geebung And dont forget to sign up for my new studio classes which commence Monday and Thursday of NEXT week.

15.01.2022 Let's have some dragonfly fun this week as we finish off our wood element season! #maksikanagasana or dragonfly pose is what we have been working towards these last few weeks. It's not an easy pose to get into and requires good twisting and hip flexibility, plus it's an arm balance so you will need to be confident at crow (bakasana) to be able to do this one. Mine is far from perfect and you'll see a few little wobbles getting into it but it's lots of fun to have a go. An...d of course I'll give you something easier to do if this pose is beyond your reach for now. Let's have some fun on the mat! There's a couple of places available in my studio if you are quick! No bookings required for my hall classes. Just turn up. MONDAY 5.45pm Yoga for Vitality @ the studio (3 spaces) 7.30pm Mindful Chi Flow @ the studio (2 spaces) and ONLINE TUESDAY 7.15pm Yoga for Vitality @ Nundah SS hall THURSDAY 9.30am Yoga for Vitality @ the studio (FULL) SATURDAY 8am Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung UC hall See you soon! Tracy x

14.01.2022 Salambasarvangasana or supported shoulder stand has many benefits. Its an inversion, so it assists in returning blood supply back to the heart from the lower body and the deep neck flexion massages the thyroid and parathyroid gland in our neck, helping to bring balance to our endocrine system. BUT, it requires a LOT of neck flexion if practised in this way, so it is better for most people to place a couple of folded blankets under the shoulders (not the head) or not lift th...e pelvis up so high so the pelvis is more of a 45 degree angle to the floor. If you have osteoporosis or osteopenia then this pose ISNT for you. (It places too much stress on the cervical vertebrae). Instead keep your back on the floor and just raise the legs up. It also requires considerable core strength to do safely. Feel as if you are reaching your feet to the sky. Join me on the mat to keep your water element nourished: Monday 5:45pm Geebung Monday 7:30pm Mindful Chi Flow Geebung Tuesday 7:15pm Nundah Thursday 9:30am Geebung Saturday 8am Geebung

13.01.2022 As my studio build gets closer to completion, Im taking a few days off this week to work on the new studio garden. Im sure Ill be doing a few of these happy baby poses to relieve the lower back after digging! ONE CLASS THIS WEEK Join me this SATURDAY 8am @ Geebung for Yoga for Vitality (no classes Monday, Tuesday or Thursday).... See you Saturday! Tracy x

12.01.2022 Did you get my email about my IMPORTANT class changes? Read all about it here - https://mailchi.mp/58bc18fe3470/important-class-changes

11.01.2022 We started playing around with #astavakrasana in a few of my classes last week, so lets play a little more this week. Asta vakrasana is one of my favourite arm balances and one of the easiest arm balances to do I think (probably why I like it!) As with all arm balances, make sure you scrunch the mat with your fingers to protect your wrists and in this image Im squeezing my right elbow towards my body to support my right shoulder. If you are working with a shoulder or wris...t injury or if taking weight through your hands isnt for you, then join me for Monday night Mindful Chi Flow instead: no down dogs, no load bearing through the arms. Theres a style of yoga to suit everyone! . Classes this week: Monday 5:45pm Geebung Monday 7:30pm Mindful Chi Flow Geebung Tuesday 7:15pm Nundah Thursday 9:30am Geebung NO CLASS SATURDAY - Im training in Ayurveda! See you on the mat! 11.01.2022 Winter is almost over here in the Southern Hemisphere, not that we actually get much winter here in the sub-tropics. Lets gather our energy inwards for our last new moon of winter, like the seed laying dormant in the earth throughout winter gathering its energy to burst through the soil and grow in spring. Come curl up into your shell with me this week: Monday 5:45pm Geebung Monday 7:30pm Mindful Chi Flow Geebung... Tuesday 7:15pm Nundah Thursday 9:30am Geebung Saturday 8am Geebung See more

08.01.2022 This weeks build update: final set of plaster (level 5 finish), bathroom floor tiles down, water tanks moved into position and downpipes connected up (even collected some rain in them yesterday).

08.01.2022 Move your body, move your spine, get into nature and be present. Inspiring as always. Thanks Simon Borg-Olivier and happy birthday

06.01.2022 Studio build update... outside painting done, gutters replaced on existing house, water tanks moved into position and down pipes attached, floor tiled in bathroom, final set of plaster on the walls. What have I been doing this week? Helping Rowan paint his wall purple (his colour choice) where the window was removed because of the studio wall and trying to create a garden bed out of a pile of clay (Ive already used a whole bag of gypsum but I think it needs way more).

06.01.2022 Studio update... bamboo flooring down, bathroom tiled and electrical fit out mostly done. :)

04.01.2022 Lovely yoga friends, I am going to order one of these Vedic Astrology Calendars from the beautiful Gaia. As you know, I work with the moon phases in my classes and you might have noticed the influence of last Monday's full moon on your body and mind. If you would also like one and can pick it up from my studio please let me know by this Saturday 5th December (that way we can save on postage).

02.01.2022 It's a new week and it's a new term for my studio classes this week , plus it is full moon this Saturday night! Let's harness that full moon energy this week as we work on strengthening our side body. Vasisthasana (side plank) is the pose of the week. Feel as if you are scrunching the mat with your fingers (this will strengthen your wrist) and squeeze your armpit of your supporting arm to your hip to stabilise your shoulder. Reach your tailbone to your feet and pull your... pubic bone towards your face to keep your core engaged and push through your heels. My yoga for vitality studio classes are fully booked, but there is always room at my hall classes and still spaces in my Mindful Chi Flow either in studio or online. Message me if you want to grab the last couple of places in this term's Mindful Chi Flow. Here's the timetable: Monday 5:45pm Yoga for Vitality @ the studio (FULL) Monday 7:30pm Mindful Chi Flow @ the studio (2 spaces) & ONLINE Tuesday 7:15pm Yoga for Vitality @ Nundah SS hall Thursday 9:30am Yoga for Vitality @ the studio (FULL) Saturday 8am Yoga for Vitality @ Geebung UC hall Can't wait to see you on the mat.
