24.01.2022 Makers Market today at Remakery in Windsor. The sun is out, it's a beautiful day, some lovely stalls.... come out and say hello!! Hawkesbury Remakery

23.01.2022 Another workshop soon to be launched - just a few more photos to take, a check of the diary and it will be done. This one is a combination of two previous workshops - Upcycled Gold and Stacking Rings. Details and dates will be posted by the end of the week :)

22.01.2022 As a small, local business, personal reviews and word-of-mouth are the most valuable promotional tools for me. Please, if I have made you something, repaired or restored something for you, if you have done a workshop or if you have purchased from me, I would love for you to share your experience by taking just a minute or two to leave a review for my business right here on Facebook, or on Google reviews. It really helps me appear higher in online search results, and gives new clients the confidence to work with me. It will take just a minute, but will mean the world to me <3

21.01.2022 Here's another recent piece that I just had to share with you.... My client was looking to have a wedding band made to suit her existing engagement ring. Due to the size and shape of the engagement ring, a straight band was not suitable, so a fitted wedding band was the best option. The new handmade 18ct white gold fitted wedding ring fits snugly around the engagement ring and we added diamonds from an old dress ring my client had and no longer wore. I think the wedder looks just stunning without overpowering the engagement ring - it really just adds some "Wow!" to it.

20.01.2022 Tennis anyone? I'm not much into tennis...but a tennis bracelet? Yes please! Do you know how the Tennis Bracelet got its name? The diamond bracelet we now know as the Tennis Bracelet was originally known as an Eternity Bracelet. That is until in 1987 when Chris Evert (tennis queen and probably the most stylish player to ever play the game) stopped a U.S. Open match mid-game to retrieve her diamond bracelet which had fallen off on court. In an interview later, she referred to ...the bracelet as her "tennis bracelet" and the name stuck. . . . #tennisbracelet #diamondshawkesbury #australianopen #tkjd See more

20.01.2022 Wow! What a great workshop we had on the weekend... It was Exploring Precious Metal Textures first-up in the latest round of jewellery-making workshops. With a full class, we sure did make some noise! I am always so inspired by the enthusiasm and creativity of my students. I feel they teach me as I teach them. All four of the lovely ladies were absolute beginners and the jewellery they made was just amazing. Such a pleasure to be able to do this and share my craft. Here are ...some photos from the day - all students' work :) . . I still have a few places left in upcoming workshops - hit the "Events" tab for more info or find details on my website. #jewellerymakingworkshop #jewellerymakingclass #silverjewellery #handmadejewellery #whattodohawkesbury #hawkesburylifestyle #tkjd See more

19.01.2022 Wedding rings are one of the most sentimental pieces of jewellery, and often a treasured heirloom. But do you actually wear a wedding ring you have inherited? Many of us have a wedding ring inherited from a parent, grandparent or even a great grandparent but have it tucked away in a drawer because, let's face it, it's not the most stylish piece of jewellery and it probably doesn't even fit. Melt it down? Yeah, but then it's just not the same, right? Well, how about this? I c...an create this gorgeous heart-shaped pendant for you, using your old wedding ring without melting it down... The original profile remains, all of the ring is incorporated in to the pendant and any engraving on the inside of the ring can be preserved. The ring is cut into two pieces, the pieces reshaped and joined together again in a stylish heart shape. Then I add a bail at the top so it can be worn on your favourite chain. The original ring, engraving and any pattern or decorative features will remain, and you will have a sentimental treasure that you will love to wear. Almost any wedding ring can be restyled into a lovely pendant. Send me a photo of your wedding ring, or come and see me in the studio for an obligation-free consultation. 18.01.2022 I have been asked on a number of occasions about memorial jewellery, so I have now sourced a lovely range of pendants that can securely hold a lock of hair or a small portion of ashes. Available now on my website. More designs coming soon in stainless steel and sterling silver...

18.01.2022 Following my post yesterday on the gorgeous heart-shaped pendant made from a wedding band, here is a little look at the way it comes together.... Obviously not the whole process but hopefully shows how the ring is cut and how the shape is formed ;)

17.01.2022 All set up at Hawkesbury Remakery repair cafe... treating myself to a delicious Vienna coffee from Zazu Cafe

14.01.2022 Hmmm, I wasn't too sure about stars at first, but I am really liking them now....what do you think?

13.01.2022 Having a big declutter in the studio this week and possibly some redecorating Watching this new BBC series All That Glitters while I'm doing it (yes, it is quite distracting!!). It's like Bake-Off but with jewellery.... Anyone else watching? https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000v4fr You can watch full episodes on YouTube ;)

13.01.2022 Absolutely loving this recent remodel job... My client came to me with her original opal and diamond engagement ring, looking to have it redesigned and remodeled. Together, we came up with a new design, which would use the opal and diamonds from her original ring, with the addition of two more diamonds from an old pair of studs. With a focus on making the opal the main feature of the design, and creating a setting that would protect it from any future damage and wear, I think... the result is truly stunning. I have also intentionally made one edge of the new ring straight, so that it can be worn against her plain wedding band without any future issues of uneven wear between the metals. What do you think? . . . . #tkjd #remodeling #oldisnew #handmadejewellery #madeinthehawkesbury #oldgold #jewelleryremodel #jewellerhawkesbury See more

12.01.2022 A little love from Brutus for Lovies Test and Tag <3 Keeping us safe and legally compliant in the studio, with a little bonus snuggle time.... Awwwww these two! <3

11.01.2022 I love this local community of mine! This is a wonderful program set for next year for those living in the Colo area and surrounds. I have had the pleasure of meeting the organisers and jumped at the chance to be involved. <3

09.01.2022 The Blog is back Head over to the brand new "Behind the Scenes" blog and take a look inside the jewellery studio. In this first post, we take a good look at the Rolling Mills. I find the rolling mills get the most immediate attention from studio visitors, so I though it fitting we kick off the blog with a post all about this dinosaur of the jewellery workshop. Please have a look, share with your friends and leave me a comment on the blog post, even just to say hello - it ...really helps Mr. Google send more people my way ;) Is there something you would like to see in future blog issues? Let me know... Click here to view the blog <3 https://www.tkjewellery.com/2021/01/28/rollingmill/ See more

07.01.2022 Happy Birthday November babies :)

06.01.2022 New week, new month... it's February already!!! And the birthstone for February is AMETHYST. Happy Birthday to all the February babies <3

06.01.2022 Diamond Chips??? Not any more ;) Did you know that those teeny tiny diamonds, often referred to as diamond chips, are actually faceted diamonds? There was certainly a time that "chips" of diamonds were used in jewellery (hence the name), but those days are long gone, and you will only see real diamond chips in antique jewellery now. These days, even the tiniest diamonds are actually cut and faceted, just like the larger ones. Here's one on the tip of my finger! Oh, and yes, they are nearly impossible to find if you drop one, especially on a dusty bench, like I did when I was trying to photograph this one.....can you spot it?

05.01.2022 Had such a lovely time, meeting and playing with these gorgeous ladies last night :)

04.01.2022 If you are out this way, or looking for a day trip this weekend, head out to the East Kurrajong School of Arts Hall for their annual Hobby and Motor Show. Be sure to say hello to our local WIRES volunteers and grab a ticket or two in the raffle. I have donated one of the prizes - this gorgeous sterling silver bat pendant! Proceeds of the raffle go directly towards the costs of rescuing, raising, and rehabilitating injured and orphaned wildlife in the Hawkesbury. https://www.eventfinda.com.au//annual-hobby/east-kurrajong

04.01.2022 A little giggle for the weekend :) Got any others to share?

03.01.2022 Well, this is when you know you're getting old... Spent ten minutes looking for my glasses and there are not one, but two pairs on my bench

03.01.2022 Lab-Grown Diamonds.....? There is a lot of discussion, debate, information and misinformation surrounding lab-grown diamonds. Relatively new to the wider market, lab-grown diamonds are now becoming more and more popular. We've been growing emeralds and rubies in a lab for years, so why not? I thought I'd share this link with you. It has some good information on lab-grown diamonds, although, being a sponsored post it is a little "salesy". If you can get past that (and the pho...to of the diamond ring that is set soooo crooked it makes my eyes hurt) it really is worth a read :) If you are interested in Lab-grown diamonds, I can help. 01.01.2022 So we were sitting outside last night, enjoying a wine or two after a long hot day, and I challenged myself to figure out how to set up the outdoor movie projector so it would connect to YouTube.... a huge technical feat for me. Well, success! But then came the bigger challenge of what to watch.... I remembered a video I produced in the studio many years ago so figured that would be fitting for our first outdoor YouTube viewing. Actually quite chuffed with it, if I'm being ho...nest, so thought I'd drag it out and share it with you all again. I have plans to make more videos this year, and seeing this one again has made me more determined to do so, along with the encouragement of Phil, who was seemingly quite impressed as well. 01.01.2022 I love seeing a remodel come together. Remodelling is probably my favourite work. Being able to transform a sentimental piece into something modern and treasured is just such a pleasure. Choosing the best-suited garnets from this heirloom pendant, I designed and custom-made this gorgeous, classic style ring that is strong enough to be worn every day and is guaranteed to be noticed. Really enjoyed this one... #remodel #oldisnew #remodeledjewellery #garnetring #tkjd #handmadejewellery
